Octreotide First report of hepatitis: case report * A 50-year-old man receiving thyroxine cortisone, and testosterone replacement therapy was treated with SC octreotlde 100,l1g every 8 hours for acromegaly Routine laboratory tests were normal until the sixth month of therapy when high values were obtained from liver function tests Hepatitis A and B tests were negative Octreotlde was withdrawn and the liver enzymes returned to normal Octreotlde was resumed 5 months later After 3 months of therapy liver function tests were again elevated and the patient suffered weakness nausea anoreXia , Jaundice and dark urine Tests for hepatitis A and B were again negative Both octreotlde and testosterone therapy were discont inued and the patient Improved
