Reactions 1383 - 7 Jan 2012 Octreotide Nevus: case report A 52-year-old man, who had started receiving IM octreotide [Sandostatin SR] 30mg monthly as adjuvant treatment for hepatic metastases a year earlier, developed multiple nevi (more than 200 lesions) over his torso and back. His nevi were flat and pigmented, and some were of the lentigo type. Two clinically atypical lesions were excised, and histological examinations showed benign, hyperpigmented levi; magnification of a nevus showed numerous peripheral pseudopods over the entire circumference. The number of his nevi had stabilised, and he was monitored for more than 10 years while on octreotide therapy. He had not developed melanoma. Michel J-L.
