    3: of or relating to human society, the interaction of theindividual and the group, or the welfare of human beings asmembers of society

    Media (from Merriam Webster dictionary)1: a medium of cultivation, conveyance, or expression;

    Wikipedia defines Social Media asthe online tools and platforms that people use to shareopinions, insights, experiences, and perspectives with each other.Social media can take many different forms, including text,images, audio, and video. Popular social mediums include blogs,message boards, podcasts, wikis, and vlogs.

    "Social Media", "Web 2.0", "Social Networking" may be the latest buzz words and forthe inquisitive geeks out there a wonderful adventure. But with so many to choosefrom which one or one's do you pick to benefit your business? Is the time invested insigning up to a Social Network, Social Media platform or Web 2.0 application worthit? Do you think, "How on earth do these people have time to Twitter or Facebook?"Are you asking yourself, "What is Twitter and Facebook?" When you have signed up toone how do you use it to its best advantage?

    The power behind this Social Web phenomenon is that it's an opt-in culture. Whenyou sign up you want to be there. You invite friends to join and they tell everyone intheir profiles what they like and dislike, what their dreams and aspirations are,

    what they want and what they crave, seeking out like-minded individuals to connectand share with. They unite behind causes and rail against common injustice.

    Social Media has no geographic boundaries its access may on occasion be limited bythe efficiency of technology but more and more people are logging on to theInternet and their numbers grow day by day. Entering in to the Social Web arena islike putting your business in to the living room of every computer user in thecountry. The only medium capable of that at the moment is TV advertising and theexpense is prohibitive to most businesses. But Social Media....
