Oce for Fraternity and Sorority Leadership Development
MMAlpha Gamma Delta is a values-driven organization that encourages all members to Live with Purpose. Guided by our Purpose, Alpha Gams are inspired to better them-selves and in turn, better the world around them. On October 13, 2013, our sisterhood achieved signicant growth at the Universi-ty of Southern California, as Alpha Gamma Delta welcomed over 130 new members into the organization and the USC greek commu-nity. MMWhen choosing the right women to join the newest sorority at USC, Alpha Gamma Delta looked for women who were leaders on campus, who were interested in being trailblazers by starting something new and who wanted to make a positive impact in the community. Alpha Gam has been pleased with the amount of support and excitement received from the greek community at USC this fall. Additionally, the Delta Alpha Chap-ter of Alpha Gamma Delta is the original home to numerous USC alumnae in the Los Angeles area and many of these women have already found a way to be involved with the new chapter through joining the advisor team and attending colony events. MM
MMSince Alpha Gam’s Bid Day, the found-ing members have celebrated many rsts together including their Sisterhood Re-treat, Trojan Family Weekend and Presents, Homecoming Week, the Greek Gala, sister-hood events and so much more. e colony members have shown tremendous enthu-siasm as they continue to work together to build a sisterhood, establish traditions and set the standards for the chapter for years to come. e new members of the colony will be initiated the weekend of January 25, 2014 and will receive their charter as the Delta Al-pha Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta. Once the chapter has been installed, the chapter will hold elections and the rst ocers of Alpha Gam at USC will continue to build upon what our founders at Syracuse started so many years ago. MMank you to members of USC’s greek community who supported Alpha Gamma Delta in our recruitment eorts this fall. We are looking forward to being a part of your community for years to come!

2013 Greek GalaAn evening to long remember...
MMOn Friday, November 22, 2013, almost 400 members of USC’s greek community gathered in Town and Gown to celebrate their interfraternalism and induct outstand-ing alumni and parents into the 2013 Greek Hall of Fame! Chaired by Jackie Rosen, Pan-hellenic Council EVP, the Hall of Fame was a new addition to the growing tradition of the Greek Gala. All chapters were requested to nominate their outstanding alumni lead-ers and parent volunteers-- individuals whose time and talents have contributed immea-surably to the sustained excellence of USC’s greek community in a variety of ways. MMAfter the reception with passed hors d’oevres, the formal program was kicked o by Roxie Friberg, 2013 Panhellenic Presi-dent, who welcomed guests and introduced the Troy Tones. Panhellenic is indebted to the Delta Delta Delta Panhellenic Delegate who arranged for their wonderful performance. Dr. Ainsley Carry, Vice-Provost for Student Aairs, greeted those assembled and added remarks on behalf of senior administration. A slide show representing all of the councils and their activities was shown, prepared by Lauren Fields, Panhellenic Vice-President of Scholarship. All 5 greek councils were highlighted with their achievements of the past year from the podium. In addition Paige Adams-Geller, Delta Gamma, presented re-marks as the keynote speaker, focusing on how her experiences as a USC greek have catapulted her to entrepreneurial success.
2013 Greek Gala
MMe 2013 Greek Gala also featured a silent auction and casino games. All Panhel-lenic chapters and many chapter parent clubs contributed unique and exciting items to the silent auction to add to the money raised for the USC Greek Endowment Fund through the 2013 Greek Gala. On behalf of the 2013 Panhellenic Executive Board, I want to express our deep appreciation for all those who attended and for the countless hours of meticulous planning contributed by 2013 Panhellenic Executive Board members and Panhellenic Delegates.

MMe Panhellenic Council had a very eventful fall semester at USC, and I couldn’t be more proud or honored to represent such a wonderful group of motivated, talented, and accomplished women. e semester was o to a great start, with over 1,050 women par-ticipating in recruitment-- a record breaking number in USC’s 100 year history! rough-out formal recruitment, the Panhellenic Council worked collectively with each chap-ter to create greater transparency regarding recruitment rules and regulations. Addition-ally, we emphasized a values-based recruit-ment for both the chapters and potential new members. e newest chapter of Panhellenic, Alpha Gamma Delta, successfully re-colo-nized this past fall with over 130 bids oered to new members. Alpha Gamma Delta will be participating in formal recruitment next fall, and will be moving into their renovated house on 28th Street this spring. MMPanhellenic also continued to develop innovative procedures to manage risk among the chapters and increase involvement with DPS ocers, LAPD, USC Counseling Ser-vices, and e Center for Women and Men. Panhellenic attended the weekly DPS meet-ings with the Interfraternity presidents to de-brief every weekend and understand what the community needs. In addition, Panhellenic held bi-weekly meetings with chapter presi-dents and risk managers to brainstorm, share risk management ideas and come up with a system of best practices. Panhellenic was ac-tively involved in meetings with administra-tors throughout the fall semester and helped build the language for a new social policy at USC.
MMPhilanthropy has always been important to the greek community. is past semester, the Panhellenic Council organized Food Truck Wars, a day-long event in Alumni Park featuring 3 food trucks and an accessory boutique truck. Each truck paid a $75 §at fee to participate and contributed an additional 15% of their revenue throughout the day for Camp Kesum, the winner of our pitch com-petition in April. Over $1000 was raised in total for Camp Kesum. is was also a great opportunity to spread information about their organization for children with cancer. In addition, Panhellenic participated in Friends and Neighbors Day at Blazers Youth LA, an after-school learning center for children in the local community.

ing nationwide honors organization for greeks,
was started at USC by our very own Beth Saul.
MMAlso this semester, Panhellenic has placed a strong emphasis on scholarship. PHC is proud to announce that the Pan-hellenic Women’s GPA is higher than the all-women’s GPA at USC. Panhellenic continued its faculty appreciation program, where each chapter recognizes 2 professors for innovative teaching. e nominated pro-fessors receive a special engraved pen thank-ing them for their contributions to USC ac-ademics. Additionally, an advertisement was placed in the Daily Trojan acknowledging all of the professors that were recognized. e Panhellenic Council also created incentives to promote scholarship among the chapters. e chapter with the highest GPA received a food truck as a reward, and the runner up received cupcakes. Individual members with

a GPA of 3.8 or higher were rewarded as well and received cupcakes along with an encour-aging note. Finally, the Panhellenic Council oered a $1,000 scholarship to every chapter to award to one of their deserving members. MMe Panhellenic Council continued to form strong relationships with campus organizations, and increased our visibili-ty with the University. On November 19th, Panhellenic participated in an interactive ally training workshop with the LGBT Resource Center. Panhellenic also helped set the groundwork for the “Let’s Talk about Sex” event with the Women’s Student Assembly. We are very excited to continue working with these organizations for years to come! Final-ly, Panhellenic planned the 6th annual Greek

MMe Interfraternity Council had a great semester at USC this fall. Nine Interfrater-nity Council scholarships were awarded in the amount of $1,000 in order to maintain a focus on the high quality and caliber of men in the greek community. Additionally, IFC implemented the all greek calendar and event registration in order to help maintain transparency between the university and the fraternities, helping chapters to plan events more easily and to encourage early event planning. e Interfraternity Council also increased two-way communication with the Department of Public Safety by plan-ning weekly meetings with Chief Adams. Together, they implemented an event re-sponse team. MMe Interfraternity Council was pleased to hold the second LGBT Ally Training ses-sion this fall. is semester’s training was geared towards ocers and leaders in each chapter, in order to equip them with the tools necessary to make their chapters LGBT safe zones. Finally, the Interfraternity Council led the USC Greek Movember Initiative and helped raised over $27,000.

MMe Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) accomplished many great strides during the Fall 2013 semester. e coun-cil comprised of 12 unique fraternities and sororities, is determined to enhance the USC community, as well as their member’s col-lege experiences and development as lead-ers. is semester MGC focused on helping our member organizations with recruitment. We developed a tips sheet for our members to implement and to increase the visibility of MGC and its organizations. Additionally we hosted a beach bonre in order to pro-mote networking and collaboration between organizations. We also used this time for team building activities and to increase the familiarity between each chapter. MGC is also very proud of our newest sorority, Sigma Delta Sigma, who has had a very successful semester and has initiated four new members. And as of Fall 2013, MGC has a new mem-ber fraternity, Gamma Zeta Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. We are very proud of our new-est members and are very excited for what Spring 2014 holds for us as a council. ank you once again; it has truly been fantastic se-mester for our council.

Alpha Chi Omega
MMis fall, Alpha Chi Omega experienced a strong recruitment and welcomed a won-derful new pledge class. With the creation of an alumnae database and new advisory board, we hosted multiple networking events and strengthened ties with our local and national alumnae. Lastly, we were proud to host our annual Candlelight Vigil and philanthropy events this October supporting our national philanthropy of domestic violence awareness.
Alpha Delta Pi
MMAlpha Delta Pi had a semester packed with exciting events! We established a strong academic foundation by hosting the school-wide event Greeks Meet the Firms and a scholarship dinner to network with profes-sors. Our All-American BBQ Philanthro-py raised over $2400 to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities. ADPi’s involve-ment with the greek community not only in-cludes winning the Phi Delta eta FIFA philanthropy, but also hosting greek tness classes on our lawn and having a charity gift-wrap party with our sister sorority. We had an amazing semester, lled with social events, philanthropic eorts, and inter-greek events!
Alpha Phi
MMAlpha Phi had an amazing Fall 2013 se-mester! We recruited 71 amazing new mem-bers during Formal Recruitment. We enjoyed many events including our New Member Retreat pool party, a Kings’ Game raising funds for the Hydrocephalus Foundation, and Big/Little Reveal at Disneyland! We hosted our annual Red Dress Gala auction event on Trojan Family Weekend, and raised over $40,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation beneting Women’s Heart Health. We also held a Homecoming Tailgate for our Alpha Phi alumnae, which had wonderful attendance and brought back some members who hadn’t returned in over 10+ years!
Delta Delta Delta
MMDelta Delta Delta has had many accomplishments this past semester. We are so proud of being awarded the highest GPA on the Row, with a chapter average of 3.5. Due to a successful recruitment, we have a talented, diverse new member class of 64 women who have shown their abilities as leaders. We also held our rst annual Tri- Delta Game Day, and have raised over $30,000 for St. Jude just this past year.
Delta Gamma
MMis fall, Delta Gamma was thrilled to welcome 71 incredible and accomplished young women into the chapter. A wide variety of events marked this semester as a success, including our annual philanthro-py Anchor Splash, a sisterhood event at Disneyland, Scholarship Dinner with Dr. Ainsley Carry, crowning our Anchor Man Barret Hirschberg, and exchanges with Sigma Chi, TKE, and Lambda. We had a blast being paired with Lambda Chi Alpha for Homecoming, winning rst place in the overall Homecoming competition! We are looking forward to another fantastic semester!
Kappa Alpha eta

Kappa Kappa Gamma
MMis fall was a wonderful semester for our chapter. Specically, one highlight that made this semester special was our amazing experience with GIRLS Academy: Girls In-spiring Respect Leadership and Service. It was an honor to be selected by Kappa Kappa Gamma Headquarters to host GIRLS Acad-emy at USC and to be seen as role models and mentors for these middle school aged girls was truly a gift. It was a growing experi-ence not only for the participants of GIRLS Academy but also for our active members.
Pi Beta Phi
MMis semester, we held our annual sand volleyball tournament, Arrowspike, and raised over $10,000 for both the Pi Beta Phi Foundation and the Scott Car-ter Foundation. Because of this, as well as our literacy program First Book, we were named the number two fundraising Pi Phi in North America. We also recently organized an event with Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, in which we hosted Taya Kyle, the wife of American Sniper Chris Kyle, to speak to the community and raise money for the Boot Campaign in support of veterans.
Sigma Delta Tau
MMSigma Delta Tau has had an amazing fall semester! We returned to formal recruit-ment, something we have not done in ve years, to garner a great fall new member class. Our fall philanthropy was a huge success, raising over $3,000 for Prevent Child Abuse America. We were also blessed to participate in Campus Kisses, a program where we sent over 1000 postcards to troops overseas. We look forward to what the spring semester brings us!
Interfraternity Council
Alpha Gamma Omega
MMe Alpha Gamma Omega fraternity has enjoyed a great semester of brotherhood in the Fall of 2013. Some highlights include: a trip to Tijuana, Mexico where some of the brothers were able to nish work on a house for a needy family, a second-place nish in AGO’s National §ag football tournament, and a successful “Mocktails” party and corre-sponding toy drive for Toys For Tots.
Alpha Tau Omega
MMIn the past year, ATΩ welcomed 44 new brothers into the house, bringing total membership to well over 100 of USC’s n-est men. Our chapter was also awarded the prestigious True Merit award by the ATΩnational fraternity. Combining ATΩ’s phil-anthropic commitment with its relationship with USC’s sororities, the men of ATΩ and the ladies of ∆∆∆ rallied together and spent an exciting Homecoming week supporting the Jumpstart Foundation.
Beta eta Pi
MMe men of Beta eta Pi have had an incredible semester! After a success-ful recruitment and pledge period, we have brought our total membership to over 105 members. In addition, we just completed our rst Movember fundraiser, where we raised over $15,000 for Prostate Cancer Research, making us the highest fundraising college or-ganization in the country!

Delta Chi
MMDelta Chi’s Southern California chapter has had an excellent semester. Our annual philanthropy “Sorority Shootout” 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament was again a success, raising more than $2,000 for the V Founda-tion for Cancer Research, and the associate member class – lled with many aspiring greek community leaders – boasted 100% retention. e fabulous Greek Gala high-lighted the semester’s end, with one of Delta Chi’s most distinguished alumni, Rod Dedeaux, being posthumously inducted into the recently created Greek Hall of Fame.
Lambda Chi Alpha
MMLambda Chi continued its tradition of diverse excellence this fall, boasting achieve-ments in athletics, philanthropy, and beyond. Two of our varsity athletes, Cody Kessler and Max Tuerk, carried the football team to new heights as starters, triumphing over Stanford. What’s more, we raised over $20,000 for the Friendship Circle, a charity with which we have long had a relationship, and held a tremendously successful barbecue with the children that the charity helps to support.
Phi Delta eta
MMIt was another great semester for us here at Phi Delta eta. e semester included highlights like our annual philanthropy, Phi Delt FIFA, going o perfectly. Once again we volunteered to run the local ALS walk, something our 19 newly initiated members participated in as well. We’re still enjoy-ing the brotherhood opportunities our new beach volleyball court in the backyard gives us; nally, we took a social yacht cruise to Catalina Island, the rst of its kind at USC.
Phi Kappa Psi
MMPhi Psi has enjoyed another successful fall semester. We were lucky enough to have President Nikias speak at our scholarship dinner this semester where we recognized brothers for their academic success and also gave out over $40,000 in scholarships. We were also privileged to enjoy our Home-coming festivities with the lovely ladies of Kappa Kappa Gamma, which made for an amazing Homecoming week and gameday. e brothers of Phi Psi were happy to enjoy another successful semester at USC and look forward to a great spring.
Pi Kappa Phi
MMere is no doubt that Pi Kappa Phi’s biggest fall highlight was in philanthropy. Our annual fall philanthropy, Winter Wars, raised thousands for our national non-prot organization, Push America. Our proudest philanthropy was our rst annual Brunch with Buddies. We teamed up with USC Best Buddies to bring over 50 high school stu-dents with disabilities from a local school to our front lawn for a day of brunch and games. We raised over $2,000 for USC Best Buddies to fund more programming.
Sigma Nu
MMFall 2013 proved to be an excellent semester for the Epsilon Omicron chap-ter of Sigma Nu. Our bonded pledge class has helped to add character and strengthen tradition within our new chapter house. Our alumni have been reinvigorated resulting in chapter events being as strong as ever. e newly elected Executive Council is condent and focused on increasing philanthropy, aca-demics, and our great brotherhood in 2014.
