investigation revealed that, over a two year period,BH had paid more than $4M in bribes to Kazakhofficials through a bogus consulting firm
BH had previously been cited for FCPA violations

March 2007 - Chiquita Brands Intl Inc. Fined $25M ForTerror Ties
A Chiquita Brands Columbian subsidiary paid about$1.7 million between 1997 and 2004 to the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC)
In April 2003, company officials and lawyersapproached the Justice Department and advisedprosecutors they had been making the payments
The payments continued even months after disclosure
