• transplantatiegeneeskunde is complexe zorg
• bij wet gecentraliseerd in de Universitaire Ziekenhuizen
• goede onderlinge samenwerking met donorziekenhuizen
• “presumed consent” wetgeving bevordert orgaandonatie
• donor profiel verslechtert met de jaren
• België staat aan wereldtop betreffende donatie & Tx pmp
• machineperfusie van organen is veelbelovend
