3. Streptococcus uberis (Strep. uberis)

Strep. uberis bacteriën kunnen ook een biofilm produceren. Voor de ontwikkeling van het vaccin UBAC® is het BAC (Biofilm AdhesieComponent) antigeen van deze bacterie geïsoleerd4 Vaccinatie met UBAC® zorgt ervoor dat het immuunsysteem van de koe afweerstoffen tegen deze Biofilm Adhesie Component gaat vormen. Hiermee wordt immuniteit tegen alle Strep. uberis-stammen verkregen4.

2. Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) en biofilmvormend coagulase-negatieve Stafylokokken (CNS)

STARTVAC® bevat een S. aureus stam die sterk biofilmvormend6 is. Bij de productie van een Stafylokokken komt een antigeen tot expressie, waarop het vaccin werkt. Hierdoor ontstaat er een immuniteit tegen alle biofilmvormend Stafylokokken6.

TEGEN WELKE KIEMEN KAN ER GEVACCINEERD WORDEN?1. Escherichia coli (E. coli) en coliformen

Het in STARTVAC® gebruikte “E. coli J5” antigeen, is een kernantigeen die bij veel verschillende gram negatieve bacteriën voorkomt2,3. Hierdoor wordt er naast immuniteit tegen E. coli ook afweer opgebouwd tegen Klebsiella en Serratia3.
