Hello everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to read the monthly newsletter. Enclosed in the April issue please f ind a updates about things going on within the airport that is essential for you to know.

A major announcement that I would personally l ike to address is the updates that are being made to the food court. After conducting numerous focus groups we have deicdede that our customers want more high end dining options in our food court and we plan to make the additions. What is important to know is that any previously existing discounts offered to our employees will transfer to these new locations as well. Anyone interested in helping make the deicisions of the actual retail locations a team will be formed to help make these decisions. for more information please check next months newsletter.

-Some of the articles included this month is a farewell to one of our air traff ic controllers, a brief notice about the new grocery store Tesco as well as a new direct f l ight we are offering.

As always it is a pleasure to have you all on staff and

I appreciate the hard work you continue to produce.

Goodbye to a dear friend and

hardworking employee. accidentally told the wrong f l ight

they were ready for take off ,

when in fact they were stil l in the

middle of boarding. She was so

worried about her job that she

made such a detrimental mistake.

When she told her supervisor

about the situation he laughed it

off and told her it happens all the

time.

Didier has enjoyed the past 30

years working for Schiphol Airport

and has made great l ifelong

connections. As she begins the

next chapter of her l ife she is

looking forward to spending time

with her grandchildren, traveling

with her husband and not talking

as much.

It is always dif f icult saying

goodbye, especially when you

have worked with someone for

the past 15 years. Dedicated air

traff ic controller Didier Renault

will be leaving the company after

30 years of service to the airport.

She is currently scheduled to end

her time with us in December of

2015.

As we all know males typically

dominate the air traff ic controller

position, so when Didier made the

decision to go into the profession

she was aware of the up hill battle

she would face as a woman going

into the profession. Not only did

she climb uphill she thrived and

was successful in her industry and

has been a major asset for out

company

Throughout her tenure here

Didier has had many experiences,

when sitt ing down with her to

write this piece she told me this

funny story. When she was f irst

beginning in the position she was

overwhelmed one day by all the

dif ferent f l ights she was

managing at one time when she

Grocery Store Chain to Open in Airport

Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, England, United

Kingdom. It is the third largest retailer in the

world measure by prof its. When the f irst store

opened in 1929 it was primarily a grocery store.

Since its opening the store has evolved into

retail ing books, clothing electronics, furniture,

banking services etc.

We are pleased to announce a new partnership

with the grocery store Tesco. This project has

been in the works for the past couple of months

and the f inal steps will begin within the next

couple of months. This new partnership will

provide many benefits for the company, staff and

customers. Tesco is one of the leading grocery

retailers the company is headquartered in

Tesco cont inued

As the construction of the store for begins there are some things to consider logistically. The location for the store is going to be right after the security check in the center of the airport before all the terminals separate. This will allow the maximum amount of travelers to util ize the store. During the construction period   this will cause a bit of foot traff ic that will need to be in control of and be aware of. Along with this there may be closures throughout the airport to allow construction to take place, this may cause delays and we need to be aware of this going into this project.

As we begin this new partnership with Tesco there are some important customer benefits that staff should know going forward. First, Tesco will be offering its banking services to travelers in the airport. With these services patrons can exchange money for international travel as well as other f inancial necessities prior to their f l ight. The grocery store will offer fresh products daily for customers looking to purchase food items for their trips as well. Lastly Tesco plans to offer markdowns on all their products that are typically util ized for traveling such as blankets, certain electronics, neck pil lows, books etc. allowing travelers to have an affordable and comfortable

traveling experience.

Once our Tesco operations are up and running there will be benefits for our employees as well to look out for. We are excited to announce that Tesco will be offering employees a 30% discount on all their food products, 20% on their electronics and other miscellaneous items and will also be offering banking services to employees as well. The added bonus to these deals is that Tesco is allowing all Schiphol Airport employees to not only util ize this deal at the airport location but also at your local Tesco as well. More details to follow in the coming months, be sure to look out.
