Allergic reaction and hypertension in children:2 case reports
Two children with chronic intestinal pseudo-obstructiondeveloped an allergic reaction and hypertension,respectively, while receiving IV octreotide daily [ages,sexes, dosages and times to reaction onset not stated].Octreotide was discontinued in the first patient and thesecond patient responded following dose reduction. Thesepatients were among nine patients identified in aretrospective review. For the group as a whole, theoctreotide dosages ranged from 0.2 to 1 µg/kg/day (dividedinto 1–3 doses) and duration of therapy was 2–15 months.Rodriguez L, et al.
