De European Committee for Standardization (CEN), waarin de nationale normalisatie-instituten van 18 Europese landen
samenwerken, heeft gepubliceerd het Europese normontwerp:

Definitief vastgestelde Europese normen zullen als Nederlandse norm gelden. Daarom wordt dit normontwerp in
Nederland voor commentaar gepubliceerd. Op het ontwerp ingebracht commentaar zal aan de bevoegde normcom-
missie worden voorgelegd die hiermee rekening zal houden bij de bepaling van de Nederlandse stem. Indien er geen
bezwaar bij het NNI wordt ingebracht, kan dat leiden tot ongewijzigd definitieve vaststelling van het ontwerp als norm.

This European Standard has been prepared by the Technical Committee ECISS/TC29 “Steel tubes and fittings for steel tubes”, the secretariat of which is held by UNWNSIDER in conjunction with CEN/TC53 “Temporary works equipment”.
This European Standard is derived with modifications from Harmonisation Document HD1039 “Steel tubes for falsework and working scaffolds - Requirements, tests.
According to the common CENKENELEC Rules, the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

0. INTRODUCTION The tubes specified in tbis European Standard are intended for use, unfabricated in scaffolding and falsework structures connected by EN74 couplers.
Because other similar tubes are commercially available and to ensure that tubes to this standard are used where intended there is a requirement for identifcation marking.
The erection and use of these tubes should be in accordance with appropriate International
and National requirements, for example, pr ENxxxl and pr ENxxxó.
It is possible to incorporate these tubes into fabricated components, such as those used in prefabricated scaffolds. The design of such fabricated components should be based ont he
material actually incorporated.

SCOPE
This European Standard specifies the requirements for non-alloy steel tubes for use in
falsework and working scaffolds constructed with separate tubes and couplers as defined in
EN 74. The tubes have a diameter of 48,3mm and nominal thickness of 3,2 or 4,0 mm.
