Zomepirac Stomatitis: positive recbaJlenge A 63-year-old woman with lung adenoma was given zomepirac I OOmg every 6 hours on de mand after inadequate pain relief with morphine. One day after changing to IOOmg every 6 hours round the clock, she developed erythematous stomatitis and tongue pain. Symptoms resolved 4 days after zomepirac withdrawal. Three weeks later she was again given zomepirac and the reaction recurred after 2 days (8 doses). Withdrawal of zomepi rac resulted in resol ution of the symptoms. 'We offer no speculation as to the possible mechanism of the reaction. but merely wish 10 fIOilll oul the apparent associal ion'.
