Bepalingen (van tijd en plaats) staan meestal achteraan maar kunnen ook vooraan staan(dit doe je dan om daar de nadruk op te leggen).
Five minutes ago Billy went to his friend
Maar de vaste regel is: p laats staat vóór tijd !
VragenBij vragen begin je niet met het onderwerp maar met een vragend voornaamwoord en/of een (hulp)werkwoord. Daarna pas het onderwerp:Are you a fool?Can he speak Spanish?
Bijwoorden (van tijd)Bijwoorden (bijvoorbeeld; usually, often, completely, quite, etc.) staan meestal ergens midden in de zin:
1. Één werkwoord in de zin = bijwoord voor het werkwoord2. Enige werkwoord in de zin vorm van to be = na de vorm van to be.
Groepje van twee of meer WW = er tussen in.Het bijwoord voor het hoofdwerkwoord (en dus na het hulpwerkwoord / de hulpwerkwoorden).
99% van de tijd achteraan. Soms vooraan.
(Vooral wanneer je iets wilt benadrukken.)
Wanneer er een plaats in de zin staat moet je tijd daar achter komen. (Dus de een na laatste voorbeeldzin klopt eigenlijk niet helemaal…)
