What is Call Quality Dashboard (CQD)?

The Microsoft Call Quality Dashboard (CQD) shows call and meeting quality, at an org-wide level, for

Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business Online, and Skype for Business Server 2019. The latest version of

CQD features a nre-real-time data feed where call records area available within 30 minutes of the end of

the call.

Use Power BI to analyze CQD data

Installation

You can Download Power BI query templates for CQD that are customizable Power BI templates you can

use to analyze and report you CQD data.

Before you can use the Power BI query templates (PBIX files) for Microsoft Teams Call Quality Dashboard

(CQD), you'll need to install the Power BI Connector for Microsoft CQD, using

the MicrosoftCallQuality.pqx file included in the downloaded file. Please proceed with the Power BI

Desktop Custom Connectors folder creation.

Check if there’s a folder named “Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors” under

%userprofile%\documents and create the folder if doesn’t exist.

Press Windows Key + R

Type cmd and hit OK or press Enter

Uncompress the CQD-Power-BI-query-templates.zip under your downloads folder and copy the

MicrosoftCallQuality.pqx file to “%userprofile%\documents\Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors”

folder.

Tip! You can copy and paste the full folder path at Windows Key + R to go straight to the directory on

Windows Explorer.

Setup

Connect to the CQD data source. Follow the steps below to connect:

1. In the Home tab of Power BI Desktop, click on Get Data.



2. The Get Data window should appear at this point. Navigate to Online Services, then select Microsoft Call Quality (Beta) and hit Connect.

3. You will be prompted to sign in next. Use the same credentials that you use for CQD.2 4. The next prompt will give you the option between two Data Connectivity modes.

Select DirectQuery and hit OK. 5. Finally, you will be given a final prompt showing you the entire data model for CQD. No

data will be visible at this point, only the data model for CQD. Select Load to complete the setup process. For this eBook we’re proceeding with the Downloaded CQD templates.

Open Power BI Desktop

Click on Get data

Navigate to Online Services left tab and scroll down until you find Microsoft Call Quality (Beta) and click

Tip! You need to have the Power BI Desktop Custom Connectors folder created and the

MicrosoftCallQuality.pqx copied there to proceed otherwise you won’t be able to se real time data from

your environment.



Connecting to a third-party service

Connecting to a third-party service (select the checkbox “Don’t warn again for this computer”) and click

continue.

If you’re not logged already on Power BI Desktop into your Office 365 tenant, you should be prompted

to sign in.



Under Microsoft Call Quality screen click in Load



On the Power BI Desktop main screen, you can import data from Excel, SQL Server, past data into a

blank table, try a sample dataset. We’ll proceed with opening the CQD-Power-BI-query-templates.
