Dear friends and family,

Thank you for your support both financiallyand spiritually. God has answered severalprayers already and it has been a wild, hard,

and wonderful experience thus far. He hasbeen so faithful and through everything hasbeen drawing me closer to Him.

My first month herein Ecuador I'velearned much moreSpanish, held amonkey, gone to thezoo, taught my firstEnglish class, seenmassive waterfalls,tried several strange

foods, met severalmissionaries, encountered the very largespiders here, and climbed higher than I'veever gone before at the Basilica del VotoNacional that overlooks Quito, Ecuador.

I am so honored to serve the children atLa Casa de Fe orphanage and get to knowthe missionaries better. One of my favor-ite things to do with the smallerchildren is go to the playground. When I

get on the seesaw with them they go wayup high and it gives them such joy! Amissionary couple and I took several ofthe older girls to get ice cream a coupletimes. It's been fun getting to know thembetter. The last couple days I taught the4thgrade English class for the first time.We did several different activities andthen had a ton of fun unscrambling words.

It has certainly been different and some-what of a struggle trying to adjust to livingin a third world country. However, I am

learning to be grateful and am trying toembrace it. Im learning to adjust to tryingstrange foods all the time, walkingeverywhere I go, cooking my own meals,learning Spanish, greeting everyone with akiss, and learning what is safe, acceptable,etc, in this culture. The weather is verydifferent from MD. It usually rains everyday with temperatures in the sixties,nothing like all the snow that MD hasreceived. I was informed by anothermissionary the other day that if you sit inthe front seat of a taxi, you are stating you

want to be the drivers wife! It's a learningexperience and hasn't been easy yet thereis so much to enjoy and I so love thisplace where God has me.

Thank you again, to every-one who has prayed forand supported me. I loveand miss you all a lot andam so grateful for the en-couragement and blessingyouve been!
