• Landbouw in Burkina Faso gaat natuurlijk niet alleen maar over landbouw, maar vooral ook over plattelandsontwikkeling.

• De meeste boeren kunnen met moeite voor zichzelf produceren, laat staan voor een internationale markt.

• Een grotere opbrengst en meer toegang tot markten kan helpen in de strijd tegen armoede

• Ook de overheid beseft dat en gaat grote leningen aan bij bijvoorbeeld de World Bank of de African Development Bank om grootschalige landbouw projecten op te zetten.

• De rapporten die bij deze projecten horen zijn een hele goede bron van informatie wat betreft landbouw in Burkina Faso
