To

involve using my generator for power since there is no

Zambia is a
strange
place. Boy, do you have to watch
out
for the bugs. I have many friends here: David
Davis, Daniel, Marcus and Gayle Shewmaker, Renatta, Robin, Rene and Rhean Gastineau -- all M.K. s
Missionary Kids. When you get
together
with themyou
havealot
of fun. Anotherfun thing that you have
here are Mission Meetings. You get to meet all of your mission friends, talk
business,
ea t
and
have fun
activi t ies.
Zambia is

in a different language I ve found a new friend at the Kafue church
who is eleven and in th e sixth
grade,
just like
me.
She loves th e

the International
School of Lusaka and
have many
friends.

In Zambia
there

with
those
who a re hungry.
I
am meeting with the
women a t th e Kafue and
Garden
churches for Bible
study.
We
are
studying what the Bible says about being a Christian woman with a witness. We pray for and encourage

faithful
to
J e su s
Christ .
Please
pray especially
for
those women, who cannot read,
to r emember th e Word. Please
pray
that the Holy
Spirit
will
guide me
to the
scr ip tures that
will be
most meaningful to
them.
Thank
you for
your
prayer support
and letters
of
encouragement.
They

make a difference Ilove
and miss
each
one of you.
Matters of
Prayer:
the Mungu church; growth in
th e
Lord,
spiritually
and
numerically;
speedy

A few
years
ago,
if
you had told
me
that
I
would
spend
my
16th birthday
in Africa. I
would have laughed
As
long
as I can remember I ve always
wanted
to
ge t
my driver's
license.
Here in Zambia you must be 18
years
old
to

of
that, the
other
day
I
went downtown
and got my
Zambian National
Registration Card. BIG

Because
all
flesh
is like grass
and
all its glory like the floweret
grass. The
grass withers, and
th e flower
drops off,
but th e
Word o f
the
Lord
endures
forever.
And
this Word
is the Good
News
which
was preached to you. 1Peter 1:24,25
The flowers in Zambia are beautiful. . . especially during
the rainy
season
when everything flourishes. Now that
th e
rains
are
over, you
must
water everything continually
if you
want
your garden to grow, your flowers to stay
pretty,
and
your grass
to stay
green.
It is a real joy to
plant seeds, watch them grow, water and weed, and at
last enjoy
th e
fruits of
the
harvest. We have eaten corn,
broccoli,
sugar
peas,
tomatoes,
kale
and
many
other
vegetables
from our garden. I ve never had a garden
before, and
it is a
real pleasure.
There is also a real satisfying joy in sharing
the
Word of God with
the
women at
the
Garden and Westside
(Kafue) churches. They, too, are like a garden, and God sWord the seed. Aswe learn and grow together
by feeding on the Word, as we pray for one another to weed out the sins in our lives, and as we put down
roots deep into God s promises, we are becoming beautiful and fruitful for Him.Please pray for them to
be faithful in reading their Bibles so that they will cont inue to grow . Please pray that they will be
challenged to memorize the Word. Please pray that they w walkand not stumble. Please praythat Iw
progress
in
the
knowledge of
the
language.
Your
prayers ar e such
an
encouragement.
Matters Of
Prayer:
thanks
to
the Lord that Marti s car has
finally been repaired and is in service
again . (Her car was stolen and wrecked on
Thanksgiving

1980.)
prayerful CONCERN for the lack of
arrival
of
our
dental equipment;
prayers of thanks for our forwarding

Carnathan,
who are doing a wonderful job of a difficult
task;
pray for the planning
stages
of
the
Midlands
Bible C on fe ren ce th at th e

of
our
churches
in
the Lusaka
area
are
hosting. This
conference
is for
th e
entire
family from ail of
our churches
in
Zambia (July 31-August 3);
pray for all of
our
interns who will be with
us here
in
Zambia
this
summer .
