ABSTRACT

-Al-Haddad Al-Andalousi - Critical-

A study submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements of the degree of MA in Rhetoric and Literary Criticism in the Department of Arabic Post graduate studies College, Umm-Al-Qura University, for the year

1436/2015.

The study plan is divided into an introduction and four chapters. The introduction is divided in to two sections: First: cultural nature of the poet through name, hometown and his cultural environment; second: Ibn-Al-

Haddad in the eyes of the critics.

Chapter one "The Place of the Figures of Speech in Rhetoric and Critical Ideology" falls in three sections: the concept of the figures of speech, the aspects of rhetoric during the ages of rhetoric, the point of view of rhetoricians of the study of figures of speech regarding form, rhetorical

function , as well as their views in its contextual function.

Chapter two "Figures of Speech in Ibn-Al-Haddad Poetry between

antonymy, paronomasia, and blank verse rhyming.

Poetry of Ibn- Al- r sections: dictionary of amorous poetry, dictionary of panegyric poetry, semantic employment of figure of speech for other purposes, as well as semantic use of figures of

speech through using symbols.

The last chapter "The Impact of Figures of Speech in Achieving the Poetic Structure in Ibn-Al-Haddad Poetry" is divided into three sections: the elements of the technical structure in Ibn-Al-Haddad poetry, the internal rhythm, and the rhyme. The study ends in the conclusion,

recommendation, bibliography and index.
