Xo increase the availability of acrylics and to lower their cost, we developed economical processes for the syntheses of the monomers and made multi-million dollar investments in plant facilities in Houston, Texas to de­rive from natural gas and air many of the necessary inter­mediates—carbon monoxide, ammonia, hydrogen cya­nide, acetylene, and methanol.
