CERTIFICATE IN TERMS OF SECTION 13(1) OF THE INQUEST ACT 1959 (ACi 58 OF 1959).

In terms of Section 13(1) of the Inquest Act (Act 58 of 1959) I, DHANASEELAN

LOGANATHAN PILLAY, hereby certify as follows?

1. I have a Degree in Chemistry from the University of Natal, and am in the employ of the State as a Forensic Analyst in the Forensic Chemistry Laboratories of the Department of National Health and Population Development in Johannesburg.

2. On 24/6/92, in the performance of my official duties, I received a blood specimen from the S.A.POLICE SEBOKENGwhich was deposited at the Laboratories in a locked steel box of which I have the key.

3. I kept the specimen under lock and key at the Laboratories until I removed it for analysis on the 13/7/92. I found the specimen packed in a styrofoam container, sealed with official seal no H/G 459227 and bearing

^ the identification mark SEBOKENG DR 478/92I broke the intact seal and found a blood specimen in a rubber-stoppered glass tube with label attached to it bearing the same identification mark.

4. I submitted the blood specimen‘referred to in Paragraph 3 above, to a process requiring skill in Chemistry and established that:

4.1. NO ALCOHOL COULD BE DETECTED IN THE SAID BLOOD SPECIMEN.

4.2. The said blc jd specimen also contained a sufficient amount of sodium fluoride to prevent alcohol being formed therein.
