Monday 22nd June NO Assembly There will be no Assembly next Monday morning but instead will be Friday at
2.10pm before the end of Term 2.30pm dismissal.
What Is The National Data Collection? All schools in Australia, including Independent and Catholic schools, will participate
in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability
this year.
The Data Collection is an annual count of the number of students with disability
receiving educational adjustments to support their participation in education on the
same basis as students without disability.
All education agencies are now required under the Australian Education Regulation
2013 to provide information on a student’s level of education, disability and level of
adjustment to the Australian Government Department of Education and Training.*
Data will continue to be de-identified prior to its transfer and no student’s identity
will be provided to the Australian Government Department of Education and
Training.
The collection of this information from states and territories will inform future policy
and program planning in relation to students with disability.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Marie Chalas or Mrs
Robyn Farnell on 9557 2044 or the Victorian Department of Education and Training
Data Collection Hotline on (03) 9651 3621. For questions after 7 August 2015, please
call the Australian Government Department of Education and Training on
1300 566 046.

We are training as a KidsMatter The KidsMatter framework unites all the people that influence children’s mental
health most – the families, school staff and the wider community. It is all about
growing healthy minds and positive wellbeing. It builds on the work already being
done at school to support students ’mental health and wellbeing.
Our school has started its journey with a staff briefing and the Action Team planning
to review the school’s current efforts across four focus areas (or components). The
Action Team will look for ways they can strengthen these efforts and then take action
using a step – by – step planning process.
Every school is different, with different needs for their students and families. The
KidsMatter framework covers four components that have shown to be highly
successful in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children.
Component 1 training for staff will begin next term. There are four sessions in this
component and we will be looking at completing the first two sessions next term. The
parent briefing will also occur next term. We will soon be advertising the day and
times in the Newsletter.
If you would like to find out more information on KidsMatter you can have a look at
the website: www.kidsmatter.edu.au

Working Bee- Sunday June 14 On behalf of the entire school community I once again thank the hard working BAGs
team (& convenor Kel Segbedzi) and all of the other volunteers who attended the
Working Bee held last Sunday. They had a huge list of jobs to perform and managed
to complete many of these on the day. The school wouldn’t look so clean, tidy and
well-maintained without their continued assistance and perseverance focused on the
TRBPS grounds and buildings as well as their great attention to detail.
Assembly Music Performances I’d like to thank Mr Wilson Young for organising the wonderful recorder perfor-
mances by 3V and 3S at Monday morning assembly. What a talented group they
were! We definitely have talent at TRBPS as we saw two solo performances by
Hugo Heppingstone on the keyboard playing the piece titled ‘Indians’ and Elmarie
DeBeer who played ‘Patrick’s Reel’ on the violin. Well done to all of the children
involved it was a most enjoyable performance.
Cross Country - Regionals Well done to Louisa Lazar, Matt Day and Dylan Kotsinadelis for their excellent
effort in representing TRBPS at the cross country regional competition held on
Tuesday. We are very fortunate to have such talented children (as I stated above) at
TRBPS! Special mention to Louisa who qualified for the State Finals which will take
place after the school holidays; we wish
her all the very best at this exciting state competition.
Chess Stars The TRBPS chess children played various other schools from the South Eastern
Region in a chess competition hosted here at school. The results are as follows:
Oliver Cordover: 6 points – medal for first place, Jack Loiacono: 5½ points – medal
for most improved, Gabriel Rips: 6points – medal for 3rd individually and 1st place
TRBPS, Wyman Chau: 6 points – medal for 1st place TRBPS and Elijah Cordover: 6
points – medal for 1st place TRBPS also an individual 1st. TRBPS qualified for the
State Finals and we got a circular trophy disc for coming 1st! (see attached photo of
the team.)
June School Reports: These are currently being finalised by all of the teachers and will be sent home at the
end of next week. Please watch out for these in your child’s bag.
Reminder - Changes to OSHC fees – Rainbow House Just a quick reminder to let the school community know that Rainbow House –
Camp Australia - fees will be increasing in-line with CPI and the release of the
Government Federal Budget. They will be sending out more information about this
in their newsletter or you can check their website at www.campaustralia.com.au
Reminder - Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF) A new government initiative has been introduced to support eligible families with a
payment of $125 to help meet the cost of school activities. Applications close for the
CSEF close on 26 June – the last day of term 2. Please obtain your application on
line or from the office are available from the office. If you need any assistance with
the form please see Mrs Marie Chalas.
Reminder - Year 1 H and LLI program From the beginning of Term 3, Mrs Ellise Mehl, currently implementing the LLI
(levelled Literacy Intervention) Program at TRBPS this year, will take over year 1H
(fulltime) for the remainder of the school year as Mrs Hope Ahern commences her
maternity leave. Mrs Ahern will continue the LLI program (that is currently being
planned by Mrs Mehl for term 3) until her maternity leave commences from August
7. The teachers are currently both completing a handover process, sharing all of the
information about their current roles to ensure a smooth transition for all of the
students concerned. We are currently in the process of sourcing another teacher to
keep the LLI program running after Mrs Ahern commences her leave in August. We
will inform the school community as soon as we know who this will be.
Have a sensational week!
