The International Conference on B. anth-racis, B. cereus andB. thuringiensis, known as "The Bacillus ACT Meeting" represented the fourth fu-sion of two conferences: the 9th Interna-tional Conference of Anthrax and the 7th International Workshop on the Molecular Biology of Bacillus cereus.The main mission of the Bacillus-ACT 2011 Meeting was to promote stimulation and fruitful interactions between investi-gators involved in research related to the physiology, genetics, molecular biology, pathogenesis and ecology of these three closely related bacteria and their kin.

Located in the heart of Europe, Belgium, and specially the historic city of Bruges, provided an ideal venue to meet colleagues and share knowledge in a wonderful me-dieval environment, where the opportunity to appreciate the pride of Bruges’ old buil-dings constituted an ideal destination for the lovers of art and beauty.
