let’s fill leytonstone with art every year leytonstone arts trail invites
everyone – children and adults alike, to
participate in the trail by putting your own
artistic creations into windows and gardens.

brighten up the streets of leytonstone from
July and through the summer ahead.
Maybe you have made something at work
or in a class? Perhaps you have taken some
photos on holiday that you are happy to
show? in past years we have had collages,
photos, painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery,
embroidery, knitting and some wild and
whacky 3D sculptures in people’s front gardens.
the tour de france was the inspiration for
one family last year! whatever your inspiration
– join in with the fun. it is really wonderful to see
displays popping up
to create a whole
gallery in the streets
calendar – so get creative and join in!

Welcome to the seventh Leytonstone Arts Trail. Seven years? Isn’t this when you’re meant to get an itch? Well come along and have a good scratch at all the talent that Leytonstone artists have to offer. This year’s work ranges through oils, water colours, mixed media, jewellery, ceramics as well as life drawing classes and knitting. There is something for everyone in the 100 or so artists on display throughout the fortnight. You will find details of all the shows in this guide and, on the back page, an easy-to-follow guide of the venues and opening hours.
Try searching the word ‘art’ online and the definition ‘Art is a diverse range of human activities and the products of those activities’ comes up from many, many different sources; Leytonstone Arts Trail offers just that. As well as all the artists and events listed in this guide we are again running the Let’s Fill Leytonstone With Art project. You don’t even have to leave home to get involved. During July and throughout the summer just put some art in your window. See the panel to the right for more information.
A lot of the work on display during the art trail is for sale and contact details for artists can be found in this guide as well as at the venues. The arts trail offers a fantastic opportunity to add to your art collection at very reasonable prices.
Thank you to all the shops, cafes, restaurants, churches and services in the area that have kindly thrown open their doors to show the rich and varied tapestry that is Leytonstone art. We would also like to express our gratitude to our media partner, East London Radio, for the support and coverage they have given to the trail. And another thank you must go to Screens in the Wild for creating the app to cover the trail. Get yours now at Screens in the Wild outside Leytonstone Library.
The arts scene in Leytonstone and the wider view in Waltham Forest goes from strength to strength and Leytonstone Arts Trail has been a pioneer in helping many artists develop their skills and in putting Waltham Forest on the arts map. We hope you enjoy seeing what Leytonstone has to offer.
