AkzoNobel Hengelo uitgegroeid tot één van de twee grootste zoutfabrikanten ter wereld

50% van het zout voor de Nederlandse consumptie komt uit Hengelo:

Bakkerijen
Zuivelproducten
Vleesindustrie
Waterbehandeling en landbouw
Productie van 2,5 miljoen ton zout per jaar
Door innovatie en technologie kent zout uit Hengelo hoge zuiverheidsgraad (99,9 % NaCI) en daardoor zeer geschikt voor chemische industrie
Van zout maken wij chloor (waarover zo meer)
Iedere Nederlander gebruikt zout uit Hengelo

Energie/Twence
Ruim 40% van stoom op site Hengelo komt van Twence
Dit vertegenwoordigt een waarde van € 7 miljoen
Gebruik van deze stoom verminderde in 2015 de Co2
uitstoot met 130 kton
Warmtekrachtkoppeling (of WKK) levert hoeveelheid stroom
die goed is voor 80.000 huishoudens
Energiekosten bepalen voor meer dan 75% de
productiekosten
Constant wordt gezocht naar manieren om energie te
besparen en het energiegebruik te verduurzamen door:
– Energiebesparing in eigen bedrijf
– Verduurzamen van energiemix
– Via samenwerking in de omgeving (Twence, Empyro,
warmtenet Hengelo)

Lokale logistieke bedrijven vervoeren het zout en de zoutproducten:
Container Terminal Twente – 20 containers met zoutproducten per dag over heel de wereld
Vredeveld Logistics – o.a. 100 vrachtwagens per dag met zout en zoutproducten naar met name Duitsland, België, Frankrijk en Nederland

Van zout maken wij chloor
Chloor is een essentiele bouwsteen voor de chemie en zit in meer dan 60% van de producten van de chemische industrie
AkzoNobel levert 30% van het chloor voor de Noordwest-Europese chemische industrie en het overgrote gedeelte voor het ARRRA-cluster
Diverse chemische clusters zijn 100% afhankelijk van zout van AkzoNobel zoals:
– Rotterdam
– Leverkusen (Duitsland)
– Dormagen (Duitsland)
– Uerdingen (Duitsland)
– Frankfurt (Duitsland)
– Rafnes (Noorwegen)
– Tessenderlo (België)

Bijna 5% van bruto regionaal product van Twente is te herleiden naar AkzoNobel- zoutproductie Hengelo
2011-2016: meer dan € 100 miljoen is geïnvesteerd in site en boorveld (o.a. Ganzebos)
2017-2021: ongeveer € 100 miljoen verwachte investering (o.a. Haaksbergen)
Per jaar ongeveer € 8 miljoen afdracht belastingen, € 400.000 lokaal
Met 145 eigenaren zijn afspraken gemaakt over huren van land voor het plaatsen van zouthuisjes
AkzoNobel betaalde hiervoor in 2015 vergoeding van ongeveer € 300.000
AkzoNobel investeert veel in innovatie, onder andere in het Deventer Open Innovatie Center
AkzoNobel investeert in Hengelo en in de regio
