Dit zijn bijmengsels bij natuurgassen in lucht. Het mol-percentage is kritisch, maar beheersbaar, zegt men.

Dielectrische eigenschappen beduidend slechter dan van SF6-gas, met name voor het onderbreken van stromen. Verder is er nog weinig over gepubliceerd.

LCA is veel beter dan met SF6-gas, maar feitelijk nog onvergelijkbaar.

A3-109: KEMA-HPL Test circuit met 17 Hz om DC foutstroom onderbreking te simuleren met voldoende MW-power.

DC stroomonderbreking leidt tot overhevelen van magnetische energie (½LI²) naar elektrische energie (½CU²), waardoor zeer hoge overspanningen ontstaan, die door MOSA begrenst moeten worden en waarbij de energie gedissipeerd.
