    Genre: a means of classification used especiallywith film and television products but applicable toother media forms as well. From the French wordmeaning type or sort it has in the film industry

    come to mean an easily classifiable and thereforemarketable film with a clearly defined story whichdemonstrates well understood conventions. Forexample: A Romantic Comedy like When Harrymet Sally, boy meets girl the hate each other, thenlike each other then hate each other then fall inlove. Other examples include: Horror, Thriller,Action Adventure etc.
