Architectural Approach
There are four distinct areas for discovering and specifying the enterprise in terms of architecture.
Business Architecture views from the point of view of business functions, business locations, events / business behavior, business role-players, business resources, business outcome, business commitments.
Information Architecture views from the point of view of information-on-the-move.
Information System Architecture views from the point of view of the systems to support the business.
Technology Infrastructure Architecture views from the point of view of the technology foundation to support information systems and therefore the business.

Business
Main Questions: What is this Business all about ?
What has to be done to achieve this ?
Who does What ?
Which tasks are to be carried out and in which order?
Which tasks deliver which outcomes/products?
How are jobs arranged within the organization ?
Structure answers: Tasks which are elementary for this business
Relations between these tasks (business behaviour)
Task arrangements (focusing organization and process)
Mandatory (inter)relations

Information
Main Questions: What do we talk about?
What do we communicate?
Who communicates with whom ?
About What? When? (Amounts and Frequencies!)
Structure answers: Which tasks have a strong cohesion focusing their communication
Which information contents interrelate.
Mandatory communication (inter)relations

Information systems
Main questions: Which automated services are needed?
To what specifications and requirements?
What are the required interactions?
How do services have to behave in order to meet the objectives?
Which technical requirements are needed?
Which technology enablers are available?
Structure answers: Clusters of functionality, data and technology
Cluster specifications and quality of service
Mandatory (inter)relations

Technical infrastructure
Main questions: Which types of infrastructure are required to support the information
systems? What is the required quality of services?
Structure answers: Coherent sets of Infrastructure (hardware, systems software and
communication) Requirements, quality of service.

Integrated Architecture Framework

Integrated Architecture Framework
uitgangspunten bij het invullen van het raamwerk:
- Business Benefits zijn leidend- Business based keuzes- Business centric thinking in plaats van technology centric thinking- Business Principes zijn ‘mandatory’- Business Scenario benadering- Technology enabling t.b.v. business benefits

vier wereldenen twee cruciale viewpoints extra

1. de besluitvorming;
2. het ontwerp;
3. de realisatie;

3. Gepersonaliseerde portals
4. Eenvoudige ‘aanpasbare’ dashboards

7. Daadwerkelijke ondersteuning(discipline versus ontplooiingsruimte)
sleutelwoorden moderne architectuur
© 2004 prof. dr. Daan Rijsenbrij - All rights reserved
© 2004 prof. dr. Daan Rijsenbrij - All rights reserved
8. Speciale aandacht aan het belevingsaspect. Juiste architectuur verleidt tot ontplooiing in het werk(master of your own destiny).
