Nieuwsbrief stichting Special Care Gulbarga 2018
Wensen De fysiotherapeuten hebben als
wens om nog gespecialiseerder te
kunnen werken. Zo is er de wens om
de motorische ontwikkeling van de
kinderen te kunnen stimuleren door
Bobath therapie en hydrotherapie.
Hiervoor zijn extra materialen, een
bad en gespecialiseerde
kinderspeeltoestellen voor nodig.
Daarnaast willen ze naast de motorische
ontwikkeling ook meer aandacht kunnen
besteden aan
taalontwikkelingsprogramma’s zodat
kinderen nog meer zelfredzaam worden.
In goed overleg met de leidinggevende
broeder worden offertes opgemaakt die
wij zullen beoordelen op
Nieuwsbrief van stichting Special Care Gulbarga
Dit is de eerste nieuwsbrief van
Stichting Special Care Gulbarga. In
deze nieuwsbrief willen we iedereen
die ons project steunt laten weten wat
we dit jaar met alle giften hebben
kunnen realiseren.
Dit jaar hebben we ons bestuur
compleet gemaakt met 4 nieuwe
leden. Het bestuur is nu als volgt:
Monique Veendrick (AVG arts)
Dianne Nota (Brede
jeugdprofessional BJG
Boekel/Landerd, Trajectbegeleider
Integrale Vroeghulp)
Hetty van den Elzen (advocaat)
Esther Wijnberg (manager zorg)
Marjo Dorrestijn (casemanager
bijzondere zorgvragen)
Christine van de Bilt (gz-psycholoog)
Ontwikkelingen
fysiotherapeuten (echtpaar) aangetrokken
met als specialisatie kinderfysiotherapie. De
vrouwelijke fysiotherapeut is ook
gespecialiseerd in stimulering van de
taalontwikkeling. Daarnaast zijn er nu 3
fysiotherapie assistenten werkzaam die
helpen bij de therapieën. We waren onder
de indruk van de voortvarendheid
waarmee dit echtpaar het centrum leidt.
'Met de komst van
ervaren kinder-
therapeuten is de
kwaliteit van het
centrum duidelijk
verbeterd.'

Kinderen die voor behandeling in het
centrum aanwezig zijn.
Omdat stichting Special Care
Gulbarga een startende stichting is
die het project over neemt van
stichting Medisch Werk Mumbai is er
op financieel gebied veel
afstemming tussen de stichtingen.
Voor de toekomst is het de
bedoeling dat stichting Special
Care Gulbarga de kosten en
investeringen van het Centrum
volledig zelf gaat dragen met hulp
van alle giften van donoren.
Er zijn afgelopen jaar 18 medical
camps gehouden. Hier werden 256
kinderen gezien waarvan 111
kinderen voor verder onderzoek en
behandeling naar het centrum zijn
doorverwezen door de
fysiotherapeut.

Identification
Identification of the children with disability is regular done through physiotherapy camps at
village level and Panchayat level. This programs is administrated by home-based
physiotherapy team and joining hands with CWDC team. During the reporting period, we
conducted 18 physiotherapy camps. In that we have examined 256 children with disability.
111 children with disability are referred to CWDC for further higher examination.
Assessment & Enrollment
Assessment is done by the entire Physio team members. They also examine the children with
disability accordingly,
⧫ Mobility
⧫ Muscle and joint function
⧫ Strength and endurance
⧫ Cardiopulmonary status
⧫ Posture and balance
⧫ Oral motor skills & feeding
⧫ Sensory & neuro-motor development
Almost 350 children are availing our routine physiotherapy care and assistance from CWD
centre
Orientation of Parents/Care Givers
The family, parents/care givers have the primary role in the children’s development. Here, the
parents are given space to share the history of the child and how was the pre and post natal
care? It is often individual sharing and in some matters common sharing by parents. It helped
for the Physio team professional to understand child and the family members comprehensively
it helps the Physio-team to initiate a treatment plan along with parents.
By the way, during the reporting period we are able to conduct 13 parents’ orientation
programs in the centre. The status of child, treatment plan and time period is clearly explained
to them. And in collaboration with family members the individual therapy plan is implanted.
Furthermore, treatment continuation process in home, parents are also strictly instructed to

assist the child with transitioning from early childhood to school and into adult life.
Enhancing the development of the children in the centre
The Pediatric Physical Therapists and Assistants assist the children with disability and their care
giver by enhancing the child’s development through:
⧫ Every child are provided treatment care in the centre

⧫ Positioning during daily routines and activities
⧫ Adapting & facilitating toys for play
⧫ Expanding mobility options
⧫ Using equipment effectively
The routine physiotherapy treatment care & homely atmosphere have produced impact in
the lives of children with disability. The family members are happy of our treatment service and
especially we could see the increased participation in the daily activities of the children.
Specially their mobility and social interaction is improved in home, school and in the
community
Nearly 37 children are enrolled for to get aids & appliance and the treatment care plan
