Walk past the area of Unterkelle and, after crossing the road, continue to the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant. From there you can choose between two different options for continuing to Seefeld – you can either walk to Heilbadstraße (former Hotel Schneeweiß, trail no.1) or to Geigenbühel (trail no. 68). Walking time: approx. 2 hours Level of difficulty: easy Schlagweg-Rautgatter-Wildmoos (no. 3) From the Ostbachbrücke bridge follow the Schlagweg trail (no. 3) in the direction of the Muggenmoosalm hut. Walk upwards through the forest. From Rautgatter continue to the Ferienkolonie Wildmoos and then on to the Wildmoosalm mountain inn. Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: moderate Weidachsee lake-Ostbach (no. 3) Starting above the Weidachsee lake follow the branch-off through the woods (no. 3) to Ostbach. Walking time: approx. 1 hour Level of difficulty: easy Circular walk around Weidachsee lake (no. 3) Starting at the Forellenhof restaurant in Weidach keep left and follow the edge of the lake. A short uphill section takes you above the breeding house. There keep to your right and walk downhill along the lakeside and back to the starting point. Walking time for the entire circular walk: approx. 1 hour Level of difficulty: easy Fludertal-Schiltenwiese-Neuleutasch (nos. 3 and 40) Walk through the Fludertal valley (no. 3) until the trail branches off to Neuleutasch via the Schiltenwiese meadow. The trail then joins the Leutasch-Seefeld route (no. 1) Walking time: approx.1 hour Level of difficulty: easy Achweg-Klamm-Ahrn (no. 5) & optional extended walk to Unterleutasch Starting from the Klamm area of Leutasch follow the Leutascher Ache stream past the areas of Obern, Plaik, Aue, Kirchplatzl, Weidach (connecting trail to Gasse) and Föhrenwald to Ahrn. Walking time: 2 hours. In Ahrn you can continue your walk to Unterleutasch, trail no. 5: Cross the road in Ahrn, follow the cleared trail to Reindlau, cross the road once more and re-join the Achweg trail no. 5. Starting above the Weidachsee lake follow the branch-off through the woods (no. 3) to Ostbach. Walking time: approx. 1 hour Level of difficulty: easy Hämmermoosalm, Gaistalalm (nos. 7 and 41) Starting from the Salzbach car park follow trail no. 7 up the gentle incline to where the trail branches off to the right (trail no. 41) to the Hämmermoosalm mountain hut (45 mins.). NB: Be careful! This route is also used as a natural toboggan track! Keeping to your left continue along trail no. 7 to the Gaistalalm mountain inn. Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy Obern-Rauthhütte (no. 8) Starting from the Rauthhütte car park in Moos follow the trail up to the Rauthhütte mountain hut. NB: Be careful! This trail is also used as a natural toboggan track! Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: moderate Wettersteinhütte (no. 9) Starting from Stupfer car park in the Gaistal valley climb up the steep incline for around 400 m and join trail no. 9 which you follow all the way to the Wettersteinhütte mountain hut. NB: Be careful! This trail is also used as a natural toboggan track! Walking time: approx. 2 hours Level of difficulty: moderate Moos-Katzenloch-Buchen (no. 24) Starting from the main road in the area of Moos walk past Haus Isabella (house no. 8) and up the slight incline that leads on through Katzenloch to Buchen. Walking time: approx. 1 hour Level of difficulty: easy From Buchen you can, if you want, continue your walk along the Schlagweg-Rautgatter-Wildmoos Alm route (no. 27, no. 3) or along the Schlagweg-Muggenmoosalm-Ostbachbrücke route (left no. 27, no. 3). Unterer Wiesenweg (no. 32) Starting from the Kirchplatzl area of Leutasch where the road ascends to Obere Wiese turn left and walk through Erdtal to Plaik and Klamm (beside the phone box). Walking time: 1 hour Level of difficulty: easy Oberer Wiesenweg (no. 33) Starting from the Kirchplatzl area of Leutasch walk up the incline to Gasthof Kühtaierhof and Gasthof Bir- kegg, walk past the Adlerhof then continue through the sparse larch woodland and meadows to Klamm. Walking time: approx.1 hour Level of difficulty: easy Weidach-Katzenkopf (no. 34) From Hotel Kristall a trail leads up to the hut ‚Hochmoos Alm‘. Walking time: approx. ¾ hour Level of difficulty: moderate Via the Wurzelsteig track (no. 42) to the Hochmoos Alm restaurant Starting at the Weidachsee lake in the Weidach area of Leutasch follow trail no. 3 towards Ostbach until you reach the branch-off to the Wurzelsteig track (no. 42). Follow the track to where it merges with the Hochmoos toboggan run. Then follow trail no. 34 up to the restaurant Hochmoos Alm. Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy Wildmoosalm-Fludertal (no. 3)-Katzenkopf (no. 49) Starting at the Wildmoos Alm mountain restaurant follow track no. 3 for around 20 minutes towards Fludertal until you reach the branch-off that takes you left along a cleared trail up to the hut ‚Hochmoos Alm‘ (no. 49). Follow the walking trail down to Hotel Kristall (no. 34). Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: moderate SCHARNITZ Scharnitz-Tannrain circular walk Starting at the information office in Scharnitz walk to the main square (Gemeindeplatz) and turn right after the Spar supermarket. After carefully (!) crossing the Karwendelbahn railway line immediately turn left and follow the trail that runs parallel to the railway embankment past the housing area at the foot of the Brunnstein and down to the railway underpass. Walk left through the underpass and continue to the main road. Cross the road and continue right to the branch-off to the next road. Follow Schanzweg as far as the kindergarten then either continue straight ahead towards the village centre or turn right and cross the Isarbrücke bridge then take an immediate left along Porta-Claudia-Straße to the main road and then left again back to the information office. Walking time: approx. ½ hour, approx. 2 km Level of difficulty: easy Scharnitz circular walk Starting at the information office in Scharnitz follow Inrainstraße and cross the railway overpass to the Isarbrücke bridge. Turn left and continue up the incline, past Gästehaus Helga (beautiful view of Scharnitz) and back down again to the Karwendelbrücke bridge. Immediately after the bridge turn right and follow the Auweg trail along the edge of the River Isar. Continue along the Isar Promenade, past the ice skating rink back to the church, then turn right again and cross the Isarbrücke bridge back to the information office. Walking time: ½ hour, 3 km Level of difficulty: easy Through the Karwendeltal valley to the Birzelkapelle chapel Starting at the information office follow Inrainstraße up to the railway overpass and continue on to the Isarbrücke bridge. Turn left and climb the incline passing Gästehaus Helga on your right, then continue straight ahead until the road joins the Karwendeltal valley trail. Follow the trail into the valley until you reach the branch-off to the Birzelkapelle, a small chapel in the middle of the forest. Return by the same route. Walking time: 2 hours NB: During the winter months this trail is sometimes close due to the danger of avalanches. Please read the signs! Scharnitz - Gießenbach (no. 18) At Haus Frankenhof opposite the church, turn into Hirlanda-Ellmann-Weg and follow it to the crossroad. Turn right and then, before you reach the bridge, turn left and follow the Gießenbach stream to the area called Gießenbach (possible stop for refreshment at Gasthof Ramona). Alternatively you can cross the bridge then turn left into Sportplatzweg, past the sports grounds on your right, and on to Gießenbach. NB: This path can sometimes also be closed off due to the danger of avalanches! Walking time: approx. 1 hour, approx. 3 km Level of difficulty: easy Scharnitz - Mittenwald (no. 58) Starting at the information office in Scharnitz cross the Isarbrücke bridge, turn right at the restaurant ‘Bella Vista zum Kirchplatzl’ and follow Porta-Claudia-Straße. Cross the bridge and follow Porta-Claudia- Straße to your right to the Isarbrücke bridge. Cross the wooden bridge and continue along the edge of the cross-country ski track via Riedboden to Mittenwald. Walking time: approx.1 ½ hours, approx. 6 km Level of difficulty: easy Scharnitz - Gasthof Wiesenhof - Scharnitz (no. 221) At the church turn right into Hinterautalstraße, continue to the ice skating rink then, keeping to your right, climb the slight incline up to the taxi company and continue straight ahead to Gasthof Wiesenhof (possible stop to eat and drink). Return to Scharnitz by the same route. Walking time: 1 hour, approx. 6 km Level of difficulty: easy Scharnitz - Gasthof Wiesenhof – Gleirschhöhe walking trail (no. 221) Follow the route as described above as far as the Gasthof Wiesenhof restaurant. At the restaurant con- tinue straight ahead through the Hinterautal valley, past the deer feeding area to the avalanche warning sign. Return by the same route. Walking time: 2 hours, approx. 9 km Level of difficulty: easy Scharnitz - Pleisenhütte (no. 28) Follow the Scharnitz – Wiesenhof route as described above. When you are above the Gasthof Wiesenhof restaurant turn left and follow the signs for ‘Pleisenhütte’. During the winter months the Pleisenhütte mountain hut is open on Saturdays and Sundays. During the high season (Christmas) it’s also open on weekdays. Overnight accommodation is available from Saturday to Sunday (by prior arrangement only!). Should weather conditions be unclear, please check the information on the notice board at the branch-off to Gasthof Wiesenhof. Walking time: approx.2-3 hours, approx. 8 km (easy) Level of difficulty: moderate SEEFELD - REITH - MÖSERN Hocheggalm Starting from the centre of Seefeld follow Andreas-Hofer-Straße to the bottom lift station of the Rosshütte ski area. Pass the main building on your left and climb the track that runs parallel to the funicular. Cross the ski piste and follow the next trail to the Hocheggalm mountain restaurant (1,545 m). Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: moderate Wildmoos circular walk (no. 2) Option 1 – Starting from the centre of Seefeld walk to the Seekirchl chapel then on to Möserer Straße. At the WM-Casino indoor tennis centre follow the signs for Möserer Weg (trail no. 2) towards Mösern and the Möserer See lake. At the lake head towards Gasthof Menthof then follow the Pirschsteig trail (no. 2) to the Lottenseehütte hut (food and drink available). Pass the hut to your right and continue towards the Wildmoosalm (food and drink available). Just before the Wildmoosalm mountain restaurant you can follow the Hörmannweg trail towards Seefeld and back to the village centre. Walking time: approx. 3 ½ hours (easy) Option – At the Lottenseehütte hut walk past the garages (sign ‘Naturkosmetik’), follow the narrow track over the golf course (follow the signs for Leutasch – Ferienheim Wildmoos (food and drink available), trail no. 3), then conti- nue to the Wildmoosalm mountain restaurant. From the Wildmoosalm you can follow the Hörmannweg trail towards Seefeld and back to the village centre. Walking time: approx. 3 ¾ hours (easy) Seefeld - Mösern (no. 2) Starting from the centre of Seefeld walk in a westerly direction to the Seekirchl chapel then continue on to the WM-Casino indoor tennis centre. Behind the tennis centre follow the signs for trail no. 2 through the forest towards Mösern. After approx. 1 km you can branch off to the Möserer See lake or you can continue straight ahead on the pavement (parallel to the main road) to Mösern. Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy From Seefeld via the Wildmoosalm mountain restaurant and Wildmoos to Mösern (no. 2) To walk from Seefeld to the Wildmoosalm mountain restaurant you can either follow a small road that branches off from Leutascher Straße opposite the riding stables and climbs up to the left, or you can follow walking trail no. 2 that branches off to the right in the Kirchwald area at Haus Hosp and offers a steady upward climb along the Hörmannweg trail through the Kirchwald forest. The trail then joins the road that takes you the final 400 m to the Wildmoosalm mountain restaurant. Walking time: approx.1 hour To the west of the Wildmoosalm there is a fork in the trail. The branch-off to the right leads to the Ferienheim Wildmoos (food and drink available). At the next fork around 15 minutes’ walk further on the trail branches off to the right towards Buchen. Turn left to continue towards Mösern via the Lottensee lake. The Lottenseehütte offers food and drink. Approx. 200 m below the road to the Lottenseehütte hut a walking trail branches off the road to the left towards Mösern (trail no. 2). You can, alternatively, simply follow the road to Mösern. The walking trail leads past Gasthof Menthof where you can either turn right and return to Seefeld via the village of Mösern, or turn left and avoid going through Mösern. Total walking time: approx. 3 ½ hours Level of difficulty: moderate Walking trail to the Gschwandtkopf mountain (nos. 2, 4 and 85) Starting from the centre of Seefeld walk through the Kirchwald forest towards Mösern (trail no. 2). When close to Mösern cross the street at the chapel. Follow the signs for ‘Gschwandtkopf’ pointing left. Initially you follow trail no. 4 then, after around 10 minutes, turn onto trail no. 85 that takes you up the Gschwandtkopf mountainside. Food and drink are available in the Sonnenalm mountain hut and in Hotel Sir Henry. Walking time: 2 ½ hours Level of difficulty: moderate Circular walk in the Möserer Tal valley (nos. 2 and 4) Follow forest trail no. 2 that branches off just after the Seekirchl chapel behind the WM-Casino indoor tennis cen- tre. After around 1 km the trail crosses the road and leads over meadows to the eastern side of the valley joining trail no. 4 at Mühlegg. Running along the edge of the woods the trail leads back to Seefeld past the Casino Arena and the bottom station of the Gschwandtkopf lift. Walking time: approx.1 hour Level of difficulty: easy Wildmoosalm – Fludertal valley (no. 3) After passing the Wildmoosalm mountain inn turn right and walk through the Fludertal valley to the road. From the road than runs past Neuleutasch turn left and return to Seefeld via the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant. Walking time: approx.1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy Walk around the Wildsee lake (no. 4) Starting from the parish church walk in a southerly direction along Innsbrucker Straße to Hotel Bergland. There branch off to your right and follow the road that bypasses Seefeld to the south then turn left onto the walking trail at Haus Seerose. The trail initially takes you through the woods and later across open terrain around the lake. At the sunny, south-eastern end of the lake walk past the Strandbad (swimming area in summer) and return via Hotel Seepitz. Walking time: approx. ¾ hour Level of difficulty: easy Round the Gschwandtkopf mountain (nos. 4, 96 and 2) Option 1 – From the village centre along the edge of the Wildsee lake towards Auland (no. 4). Starting from Hotel Alpenkönig follow the signs for Gschwandtkopf-Mösern (trail no. 4). At Mösern (chapel) cross the road and follow the signs for Seefeld (trails no. 96 and 2). Walk past the WM-Casino indoor tennis centre into the village centre. Walking time: approx.3 ¼ hours Level of difficulty: moderate Option 2 – Starting from the town centre walk towards the Olympia Sport and Congress Centre, past the bottom station of the Gschwandtkopf ski lift and along the edge of the forest on the left side of the valley that leads past the Casino Arena. Cross the road and turn left towards Mösern. At the chapel turn left (follow the signs for Auland- Reith, trail no. 4). At Café Englhof walk across the Auländer Mähder meadows to the lakeside walking path and back to the village centre. Walking time: approx.3 ½ hours Level of difficulty: moderate Seefeld - Auland (nos. 4 and 14) Starting from the parish church walk in a southerly direction along Innsbrucker Straße to Hotel Bergland. There branch off to your right and follow the road that bypasses Seefeld to the south. At Haus Seerose turn left onto the walking trail. Initially follow the trail that runs alongside the lake until you reach the forest. There turn right and walk along the edge of the woods, over the Seefelder Sattel to Auland (trail no. 4 – NB: steeply sloping section as far as Gasthof Englhof). Walking time: approx. ¾ hour. From Auland continue to Reith (trail no. 14). Walking time: approx. ½ hour (easy). You can return to Seefeld either by train or along walking trail no. 14 via Auland (see next route description). Level of difficulty: easy Forest walking trail to Reith (no. 14) Starting from the village centre follow Reitherspitzstraße to Seefeld secondary school (Neue Mittelschule). At the roundabout there turn right and following Römerweg and Kreuzweg to the southern edge of Seefeld. After around 500 m the forest walking trail branches off to left towards Reith. Around 300 m later you must cross the road before continuing along the trail through the woods and on to Reith. Walking time: approx. ½ hour (easy). You can return to Seefeld by train or along the walking trail via Auland (trails no. 14 + 4). Level of difficulty: easy From Seefeld to Gießenbach and Scharnitz (no. 6) Am nördlichen Ende von Seefeld starten Sie am Schlossberg, vorbei am „Magic Castle“ über den Hirnweg in Richtung Scharnitz. Am Ende des Hirnweges in Gießenbach queren Sie die Bahngleise und die Bundesstraße und gehen im Dorf rechts bis zum Gasthof Ramona. Dann halten Sie sich links, den Gießenbach folgend bis nach Scharnitz. Gehzeit: ca. 1 ½ Std. Schwierigkeitsgrad: leicht Reitherjoch Alm mountain hut (nos. 10 and 83) Option 1 (no. 10) – Starting from the centre of Seefeld walk towards Dorint Alpin Resort Seefeld/Tirol (near the bottom lift station of the Rosshütte ski area). At the entranceway to the hotel a narrow path branches off to the left to the toboggan track. After an uphill walk of around ½ hour the track joins trail no. 10 (sign-posted ‘Reitherjoch Alm’). From the branch-off it takes around ½ hour to walk to the Reitherjoch Alm hut (food and drink available). Walking time: approx.1 ½ hours (easy). Option 2 (no. 83 and no. 10) – Starting from the centre of Seefeld follow Reitherspitzstraße to Seefeld secondary school (Neue Mittelschule). Turn right onto Römerweg. Just before the railway crossing turn left and cross the narrow bridge towards the main road, then cross the road. NB: At the fence turn left onto trail no. 83 (signposted ‘Reitherjoch Alm’), which later joins trail no. 10 to the Reitherjoch Alm hut (food and drink available). Walking time: approx. 2 hours Level of difficulty: moderate Circular walk Seefeld - Brunschkopf high-altitude trail - Seefeld (no. 60) Starting from the Kirchwald area follow the Hörmannweg trail (no. 2) towards the Wildmoosalm. At around the half-way point branch off to your left and follow the Brunschkopf-Höhenweg high-altitude trail to Mösern. From Mösern return to Seefeld along trail no. 2 Walking time: approx. 3 ½ hours Level of difficulty: moderate Walking path to Lehenwald (nos. 65, 66 and 64) The walk begins along the Kurhotel Promenade or the Panoramaweg trail (no. 65) to the former Hotel Schnee- weiß. Here the trail branches off in a northerly direction through the Mühlwald forest. After around 300 m you come to the first fork – the trail that leads left takes you back to Seefeld via the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant. The trail to the right (no. 66) initially leads through the forest and later crosses the Seebach stream to the old power station. Following the brook downstream the trail leads towards the Bodenalm hut (open in summer only) before it branches off to the left, crosses the stream, passes a few houses and leads to the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant (trail no. 64). Walking time Seefeld-Lehenwald-Triendlsäge-Seefeld: approx. 2 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy Triendlsäge - Seefeld (no. 68) Option 1 – The return route to Seefeld initially leads along a small road to Leutascher Straße then past the bottom station of the Birken lift. Continue along the road, up the hill and along the Leutascher Straße pavement to Seefeld. Walking time: approx. 1 ¼ hours (easy) Option 2 – From the Triendlsäge restaurant follow the road in the direction of Seefeld. After around 10 minutes follow the signposts for Geigenbühel (trail no. 68) as far as the Lärchenstüberl restaurant. From there walk along the road, past Hotel Lärchenhof and Hotel Astoria, back to the village centre. Walking time: approx. 1 ¼ hours Level of difficulty: easy Seefeld – Triendlsäge (nos. 68 + 1) Option 1 – Starting on Münchner Straße branch off towards Geigenbühel either at the pharmacy or beside Hotel Seefelderhof, walk past the Prachenskyhof apartments, across open terrain and onto the Panoramaweg trail in a northerly direction until you reach the edge of the forest. Turn left and follow the trail through the woods to the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant. Alternatively you can start from the northern edge of Seefeld and, via the Kurhotel Promenade or the road to the former Hotel Schneeweiß, you can join the walking trail to the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant (trail no. 1. NB: steeply sloping in places. Sturdy footwear required). Walking time: approx. 1 ¼ hours Level of difficulty: easy Option 2 – Starting from the centre of Seefeld follow Münchner Straße and, at the pharmacy, turn left towards Geigenbühel, past Hotel Astoria and Hotel Lärchenhof, to the Lärchenstüberl restaurant. There follow the sign- posts for ‘Triendlsäge’ (trail no. 68) through the forest to the bridge (NB: steeply sloping section, sturdy footwear required), then continue to your right along the road to the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant. Walking time: approx. 1 ¼ hours Level of difficulty: easy Circular walk Triendlsäge - Lehenwald (nos. 69, 19 and 1) Circular walk distance approx. 6 km. Starting from the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant walk down towards the valley in a northerly direction, along the edge of the Klammbach stream to the houses in the hamlet of Lehen- wald. Before crossing the stream turn left and follow the trail alongside the Drahnbach stream until it merges with the forest track. Keeping to your left climb the steadily ascending track until you are around 600 m from Neuleutasch. Branch off to your left and walk down towards the valley and back to the Triendlsäge restaurant. Walking time: approx.1 ¾ hours Alternative option: On the forest track continue towards Leutasch and from there branch off to your left to Seefeld (approx. 3 km) or to your right to Leutasch (5 km) in approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy MÖSERN Mösern-Seefeld (no. 2) At the end of the village of Mösern turn left onto trail no. 2 and walk through the forest to the WM-Casino indoor tennis centre. Walking time: approx.1 hour Level of difficulty: easy Mösern-Lottensee lake (no. 2) Starting from Gasthof Menthof walk in a westerly direction along the Pirschsteig track (no. 2) to the Lottensee- hütte lakeside hut. Return by the same route. Walking time: approx.1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy SNOWSHOE HIKING TRAILS IN THE OLYMPIAREGION SEEFELD BRUNSCHKOPF (S1) Starting point: Wildmoosalm (hut). Walking time: 2.5 hours, approx. 5 km Turn left in front of the hut Wildmoosalm and follow the panorama trail Brunschkopf (route no. 63) to the viewpoint Brunschkopf viewing point (route no. 62) via the elevation Möserer Höhe (route no. 61). Then at the junction, follow trail Blattsteig (route no. 60) to Mösern. GSCHWANDTKOPF (S2) Starting point: Seefeld, lake Wildsee. Walking time: 2.5 hours, approx. 5 km At the Wildsee transformer installation, follow ascent no. 86 to the top of the mountain Gschwandtkopf. The descent takes you over the high pastures Gschwandtkopf-mähder (no. 86) to the Alpenkönig hotel. HOHE FLUDER (S3) Starting point: Leutasch/Kreith. Walking time: 4 hours, approx. 9 km At the chapel Kreithkapelle, follow route no. 38/39. After the elevation Hohe Fluder, descend to mountain saddle Hoher Sattel. Turn left at the natural toboggan run and follow route no. 18 to Leutasch/Ahrn. TO THE ALPINE HUT RAUTHHÜTTE (S4) Starting point: Buchen, inn Ropferstub’m. Walking time: 3 hours, approx. 4 km From the inn Ropferstub’m stay on the route no. 27 until you reach the main street. After crossing the street, follow route no. 24 to elevation Katzenloch. Ascend to the hut Rauthhütte on route no. 99. Descend via the old ski run to Leutasch/Moos. MÜHLBERG (S5) Starting point: Scharnitz, former lift Mühlberglift. Walking time: 1.5 hours, approx. 4,5 km Take the toboggan run to the mountain station and return on the former ski run to the starting point. ISARSTEIG -NEDERWEG (S6) Starting point: Scharnitz, on the right after Taxi Mair.Walking time: 1.5 hours, approx. 2,5 km After Taxi Mair on the right, along the timber road, then take the trail Isarsteig no. 57 until the bridge before the Gaugg gravel works. Continue to the hut Scharnitzer Alm and then take the trail Nederweg across the river Isar to the inn Gasthof Wiesenhof. TO CHAPEL BIRZLKAPELLE (S7) Starting point: Scharnitz, information office. Walking time: 2 hours, approx. 5 km Cross the railway behind the information office and turn left in direction trail Plattsteig - chapel Birzlkapelle. Follow the signs for the circuit Rundwanderweg until you reach the chapel. Follow the route to the trail Karwendelweg, turn right back to Scharnitz. Mösern-Ropferstub’m (nos. 2 and 27) A variation on the Mösern-Lottensee lake walk (trail no. 2). At the Lottenseehütte lakeside hut walk left past the garage buildings then follow trail no. 27 to the Gasthof Ropferstub’m restaurant. Walking time: 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy Möserer See lake (no. 4) Starting from the information office follow the Brochweg trail to Hotel Tyrol and, from there, follow the signposts for ‘Möserer See’. Walking time: 1 hour Level of difficulty: easy Mösern-Wildmoosalm-Lottensee lake-Mösern (nos. 60, 2, 3 and 2) Starting from the Möserersee lake follow trail no. 60 to the Wildmoosalm mountain inn. Continue via the Ferienheim Wildmoos inn to the Lottenseehütte lakeside hut before following trail no. 2 back to Mösern. Walking time: approx. 3 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy REITH Reith - Leithen (no. 14) The trail to Leithen, which is flat for the most part, branches off to the left at the railway underpass at the southernmost edge of the village of Reith. Walking time: approx.1 hour Level of difficulty: easy Reitherjoch Alm (nos. 14 and 10) Starting from the information office in Reith walk towards the railway station then turn right and follow trail no. 14 (Bee Nature Trail) to the Maxhütte hut, then follow the signs for ‘Reitherjoch Alm’ (food and drink available). This walking trail is also a toboggan track (no. 10). Walking time: approx.1 ½ hours Food and drink available in the hut. NB: No toboggan rental! Panoramic Trail in Reith (89) Starting from Reith railway station follow the trail that runs parallel to the railway line (trail no. 14) to where it branches off to the right to the Nördlinger Hütte hut leading above the village of Reith. The Höll- talweg and Kaiserstandweg trails take you back to Reith. Food and drink are available at Rasler’s Laden. Leutasch-Seefeld (no. 1)Starting at the Mooswirt restaurant in Weidach walk uphill to the road crossing and follow the trail to your left as far as the branch-off (route no. 1) to Neuleutasch. Walk past the area of Unterkelle and, after crossing the road, continue to the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant. From there you can choose between two different options for continuing to Seefeld – you can either walk to Heilbadstraße (former Hotel Schneeweiß, trail no.1) or to Geigenbühel (trail no. 68). Walking time: approx. 2 hoursLevel of difficulty: easy

Schlagweg-Rautgatter-Wildmoos (no. 3)From the Ostbachbrücke bridge follow the Schlagweg trail (no. 3) in the direction of the Muggenmoosalm hut. Walk upwards through the forest. From Rautgatter continue to the Ferienkolonie Wildmoos and then on to the Wildmoosalm mountain inn.Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: moderate

Weidachsee lake-Ostbach (no. 3)Starting above the Weidachsee lake follow the branch-off through the woods (no. 3) to Ostbach.Walking time: approx. 1 hourLevel of difficulty: easy

Circular walk around Weidachsee lake (no. 3)Starting at the Forellenhof restaurant in Weidach keep left and follow the edge of the lake. A short uphill section takes you above the breeding house. There keep to your right and walk downhill along the lakeside and back to the starting point. Walking time for the entire circular walk: approx. 1 hourLevel of difficulty: easy

Fludertal-Schiltenwiese-Neuleutasch (nos. 3 and 40)Walk through the Fludertal valley (no. 3) until the trail branches off to Neuleutasch via the Schiltenwiese meadow. The trail then joins the Leutasch-Seefeld route (no. 1)Walking time: approx.1 hour Level of difficulty: easy

Achweg-Klamm-Ahrn (no. 5) & optional extended walk to UnterleutaschStarting from the Klamm area of Leutasch follow the Leutascher Ache stream past the areas of Obern, Plaik, Aue, Kirchplatzl, Weidach (connecting trail to Gasse) and Föhrenwald to Ahrn. Walking time: 2 hours. In Ahrn you can continue your walk to Unterleutasch, trail no. 5: Cross the road in Ahrn, follow the cleared trail to Reindlau, cross the road once more and re-join the Achweg trail no. 5.Starting above the Weidachsee lake follow the branch-off through the woods (no. 3) to Ostbach.Walking time: approx. 1 hourLevel of difficulty: easy

Hämmermoosalm, Gaistalalm (nos. 7 and 41)Starting from the Salzbach car park follow trail no. 7 up the gentle incline to where the trail branches off to the right (trail no. 41) to the Hämmermoosalm mountain hut (45 mins.). NB: Be careful! This route is also used as a natural toboggan track! Keeping to your left continue along trail no. 7 to the Gaistalalm mountain inn.Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy

Obern-Rauthhütte (no. 8)Starting from the Rauthhütte car park in Moos follow the trail up to the Rauthhütte mountain hut. NB: Be careful! This trail is also used as a natural toboggan track! Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: moderate

Wettersteinhütte (no. 9)Starting from Stupfer car park in the Gaistal valley climb up the steep incline for around 400 m and join trail no. 9 which you follow all the way to the Wettersteinhütte mountain hut. NB: Be careful! This trail is also used as a natural toboggan track! Walking time: approx. 2 hours Level of difficulty: moderate

Moos-Katzenloch-Buchen (no. 24)Starting from the main road in the area of Moos walk past Haus Isabella (house no. 8) and up the slight incline that leads on through Katzenloch to Buchen.Walking time: approx. 1 hourLevel of difficulty: easyFrom Buchen you can, if you want, continue your walk along the Schlagweg-Rautgatter-Wildmoos Alm route (no. 27, no. 3) or along the Schlagweg-Muggenmoosalm-Ostbachbrücke route (left no. 27, no. 3).

Unterer Wiesenweg (no. 32)Starting from the Kirchplatzl area of Leutasch where the road ascends to Obere Wiese turn left and walk through Erdtal to Plaik and Klamm (beside the phone box). Walking time: 1 hour Level of difficulty: easy

Oberer Wiesenweg (no. 33)Starting from the Kirchplatzl area of Leutasch walk up the incline to Gasthof Kühtaierhof and Gasthof Bir-kegg, walk past the Adlerhof then continue through the sparse larch woodland and meadows to Klamm. Walking time: approx.1 hourLevel of difficulty: easy

Weidach-Katzenkopf (no. 34)From Hotel Kristall a trail leads up to the hut ‚Hochmoos Alm‘. Walking time: approx. ¾ hourLevel of difficulty: moderate

Via the Wurzelsteig track (no. 42) to the Hochmoos Alm restaurant Starting at the Weidachsee lake in the Weidach area of Leutasch follow trail no. 3 towards Ostbach until you reach the branch-off to the Wurzelsteig track (no. 42). Follow the track to where it merges with the Hochmoos toboggan run. Then follow trail no. 34 up to the restaurant Hochmoos Alm.Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hoursLevel of difficulty: easy

Wildmoosalm-Fludertal (no. 3)-Katzenkopf (no. 49)Starting at the Wildmoos Alm mountain restaurant follow track no. 3 for around 20 minutes towards Fludertal until you reach the branch-off that takes you left along a cleared trail up to the hut ‚Hochmoos Alm‘ (no. 49). Follow the walking trail down to Hotel Kristall (no. 34). Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hoursLevel of difficulty: moderate

SCHARNITZScharnitz-Tannrain circular walkStarting at the information office in Scharnitz walk to the main square (Gemeindeplatz) and turn right after the Spar supermarket. After carefully (!) crossing the Karwendelbahn railway line immediately turn left and follow the trail that runs parallel to the railway embankment past the housing area at the foot of the Brunnstein and down to the railway underpass. Walk left through the underpass and continue to the main road. Cross the road and continue right to the branch-off to the next road. Follow Schanzweg as far as the kindergarten then either continue straight ahead towards the village centre or turn right and cross the Isarbrücke bridge then take an immediate left along Porta-Claudia-Straße to the main road and then left again back to the information office.Walking time: approx. ½ hour, approx. 2 kmLevel of difficulty: easy

Scharnitz circular walkStarting at the information office in Scharnitz follow Inrainstraße and cross the railway overpass to the Isarbrücke bridge. Turn left and continue up the incline, past Gästehaus Helga (beautiful view of Scharnitz) and back down again to the Karwendelbrücke bridge. Immediately after the bridge turn right and follow the Auweg trail along the edge of the River Isar. Continue along the Isar Promenade, past the ice skating rink back to the church, then turn right again and cross the Isarbrücke bridge back to the information office.Walking time: ½ hour, 3 kmLevel of difficulty: easy

Through the Karwendeltal valley to the Birzelkapelle chapelStarting at the information office follow Inrainstraße up to the railway overpass and continue on to the Isarbrücke bridge. Turn left and climb the incline passing Gästehaus Helga on your right, then continue straight ahead until the road joins the Karwendeltal valley trail. Follow the trail into the valley until you reach the branch-off to the Birzelkapelle, a small chapel in the middle of the forest. Return by the same route. Walking time: 2 hours NB: During the winter months this trail is sometimes close due to the danger of avalanches. Please read the signs!

Scharnitz - Gießenbach (no. 18)At Haus Frankenhof opposite the church, turn into Hirlanda-Ellmann-Weg and follow it to the crossroad. Turn right and then, before you reach the bridge, turn left and follow the Gießenbach stream to the area called Gießenbach (possible stop for refreshment at Gasthof Ramona). Alternatively you can cross the bridge then turn left into Sportplatzweg, past the sports grounds on your right, and on to Gießenbach. NB: This path can sometimes also be closed off due to the danger of avalanches! Walking time: approx. 1 hour, approx. 3 kmLevel of difficulty: easy

Scharnitz - Mittenwald (no. 58)Starting at the information office in Scharnitz cross the Isarbrücke bridge, turn right at the restaurant ‘Bella Vista zum Kirchplatzl’ and follow Porta-Claudia-Straße. Cross the bridge and follow Porta-Claudia-Straße to your right to the Isarbrücke bridge. Cross the wooden bridge and continue along the edge of the cross-country ski track via Riedboden to Mittenwald. Walking time: approx.1 ½ hours, approx. 6 kmLevel of difficulty: easy

Scharnitz - Gasthof Wiesenhof - Scharnitz (no. 221)At the church turn right into Hinterautalstraße, continue to the ice skating rink then, keeping to your right, climb the slight incline up to the taxi company and continue straight ahead to Gasthof Wiesenhof (possible stop to eat and drink). Return to Scharnitz by the same route.Walking time: 1 hour, approx. 6 kmLevel of difficulty: easy

Scharnitz - Gasthof Wiesenhof – Gleirschhöhe walking trail (no. 221)Follow the route as described above as far as the Gasthof Wiesenhof restaurant. At the restaurant con-tinue straight ahead through the Hinterautal valley, past the deer feeding area to the avalanche warning sign. Return by the same route.Walking time: 2 hours, approx. 9 kmLevel of difficulty: easy

Scharnitz - Pleisenhütte (no. 28)Follow the Scharnitz – Wiesenhof route as described above. When you are above the Gasthof Wiesenhof restaurant turn left and follow the signs for ‘Pleisenhütte’. During the winter months the Pleisenhütte mountain hut is open on Saturdays and Sundays. During the high season (Christmas) it’s also open on weekdays. Overnight accommodation is available from Saturday to Sunday (by prior arrangement only!). Should weather conditions be unclear, please check the information on the notice board at the branch-off to Gasthof Wiesenhof.Walking time: approx.2-3 hours, approx. 8 km (easy)Level of difficulty: moderate

SEEFELD - REITH - MÖSERNHocheggalmStarting from the centre of Seefeld follow Andreas-Hofer-Straße to the bottom lift station of the Rosshütte ski area. Pass the main building on your left and climb the track that runs parallel to the funicular. Cross the ski piste and follow the next trail to the Hocheggalm mountain restaurant (1,545 m). Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hoursLevel of difficulty: moderate

Wildmoos circular walk (no. 2)Option 1 – Starting from the centre of Seefeld walk to the Seekirchl chapel then on to Möserer Straße. At the WM-Casino indoor tennis centre follow the signs for Möserer Weg (trail no. 2) towards Mösern and the Möserer See lake. At the lake head towards Gasthof Menthof then follow the Pirschsteig trail (no. 2) to the Lottenseehütte hut (food and drink available). Pass the hut to your right and continue towards the Wildmoosalm (food and drink available). Just before the Wildmoosalm mountain restaurant you can follow the Hörmannweg trail towards Seefeld and back to the village centre. Walking time: approx. 3 ½ hours (easy)Option – At the Lottenseehütte hut walk past the garages (sign ‘Naturkosmetik’), follow the narrow track over the golf course (follow the signs for Leutasch – Ferienheim Wildmoos (food and drink available), trail no. 3), then conti-nue to the Wildmoosalm mountain restaurant. From the Wildmoosalm you can follow the Hörmannweg trail towards Seefeld and back to the village centre. Walking time: approx. 3 ¾ hours (easy) Seefeld - Mösern (no. 2)Starting from the centre of Seefeld walk in a westerly direction to the Seekirchl chapel then continue on to the WM-Casino indoor tennis centre. Behind the tennis centre follow the signs for trail no. 2 through the forest towards Mösern. After approx. 1 km you can branch off to the Möserer See lake or you can continue straight ahead on the pavement (parallel to the main road) to Mösern.Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy From Seefeld via the Wildmoosalm mountain restaurant and Wildmoos to Mösern (no. 2)To walk from Seefeld to the Wildmoosalm mountain restaurant you can either follow a small road that branches off from Leutascher Straße opposite the riding stables and climbs up to the left, or you can follow walking trail no. 2 that branches off to the right in the Kirchwald area at Haus Hosp and offers a steady upward climb along the Hörmannweg trail through the Kirchwald forest. The trail then joins the road that takes you the final 400 m to the Wildmoosalm mountain restaurant. Walking time: approx.1 hourTo the west of the Wildmoosalm there is a fork in the trail. The branch-off to the right leads to the Ferienheim Wildmoos (food and drink available). At the next fork around 15 minutes’ walk further on the trail branches off to the right towards Buchen. Turn left to continue towards Mösern via the Lottensee lake. The Lottenseehütte offers food and drink. Approx. 200 m below the road to the Lottenseehütte hut a walking trail branches off the road to the left towards Mösern (trail no. 2). You can, alternatively, simply follow the road to Mösern. The walking trail leads past Gasthof Menthof where you can either turn right and return to Seefeld via the village of Mösern, or turn left and avoid going through Mösern. Total walking time: approx. 3 ½ hours Level of difficulty: moderate

Walking trail to the Gschwandtkopf mountain (nos. 2, 4 and 85)Starting from the centre of Seefeld walk through the Kirchwald forest towards Mösern (trail no. 2). When close to Mösern cross the street at the chapel. Follow the signs for ‘Gschwandtkopf’ pointing left. Initially you follow trail no. 4 then, after around 10 minutes, turn onto trail no. 85 that takes you up the Gschwandtkopf mountainside. Food and drink are available in the Sonnenalm mountain hut and in Hotel Sir Henry. Walking time: 2 ½ hoursLevel of difficulty: moderate

Circular walk in the Möserer Tal valley (nos. 2 and 4)Follow forest trail no. 2 that branches off just after the Seekirchl chapel behind the WM-Casino indoor tennis cen-tre. After around 1 km the trail crosses the road and leads over meadows to the eastern side of the valley joining trail no. 4 at Mühlegg. Running along the edge of the woods the trail leads back to Seefeld past the Casino Arena and the bottom station of the Gschwandtkopf lift.Walking time: approx.1 hourLevel of difficulty: easy

Wildmoosalm – Fludertal valley (no. 3)After passing the Wildmoosalm mountain inn turn right and walk through the Fludertal valley to the road. From the road than runs past Neuleutasch turn left and return to Seefeld via the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant.Walking time: approx.1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy

Walk around the Wildsee lake (no. 4)Starting from the parish church walk in a southerly direction along Innsbrucker Straße to Hotel Bergland. There branch off to your right and follow the road that bypasses Seefeld to the south then turn left onto the walking trail at Haus Seerose. The trail initially takes you through the woods and later across open terrain around the lake. At the sunny, south-eastern end of the lake walk past the Strandbad (swimming area in summer) and return via Hotel Seepitz. Walking time: approx. ¾ hourLevel of difficulty: easy

Round the Gschwandtkopf mountain (nos. 4, 96 and 2)Option 1 – From the village centre along the edge of the Wildsee lake towards Auland (no. 4).Starting from Hotel Alpenkönig follow the signs for Gschwandtkopf-Mösern (trail no. 4). At Mösern (chapel) cross the road and follow the signs for Seefeld (trails no. 96 and 2). Walk past the WM-Casino indoor tennis centre into the village centre.Walking time: approx.3 ¼ hoursLevel of difficulty: moderate Option 2 – Starting from the town centre walk towards the Olympia Sport and Congress Centre, past the bottom station of the Gschwandtkopf ski lift and along the edge of the forest on the left side of the valley that leads past the Casino Arena. Cross the road and turn left towards Mösern. At the chapel turn left (follow the signs for Auland-Reith, trail no. 4). At Café Englhof walk across the Auländer Mähder meadows to the lakeside walking path and back to the village centre.Walking time: approx.3 ½ hoursLevel of difficulty: moderate

Seefeld - Auland (nos. 4 and 14)Starting from the parish church walk in a southerly direction along Innsbrucker Straße to Hotel Bergland. There branch off to your right and follow the road that bypasses Seefeld to the south. At Haus Seerose turn left onto the walking trail. Initially follow the trail that runs alongside the lake until you reach the forest. There turn right and walk along the edge of the woods, over the Seefelder Sattel to Auland (trail no. 4 – NB: steeply sloping section as far as Gasthof Englhof). Walking time: approx. ¾ hour. From Auland continue to Reith (trail no. 14). Walking time: approx. ½ hour (easy). You can return to Seefeld either by train or along walking trail no. 14 via Auland (see next route description).Level of difficulty: easy

Forest walking trail to Reith (no. 14)Starting from the village centre follow Reitherspitzstraße to Seefeld secondary school (Neue Mittelschule). At the roundabout there turn right and following Römerweg and Kreuzweg to the southern edge of Seefeld. After around 500 m the forest walking trail branches off to left towards Reith. Around 300 m later you must cross the road before continuing along the trail through the woods and on to Reith. Walking time: approx. ½ hour (easy). You can return to Seefeld by train or along the walking trail via Auland (trails no. 14 + 4). Level of difficulty: easy

From Seefeld to Gießenbach and Scharnitz (no. 6)Am nördlichen Ende von Seefeld starten Sie am Schlossberg, vorbei am „Magic Castle“ über den Hirnweg in Richtung Scharnitz. Am Ende des Hirnweges in Gießenbach queren Sie die Bahngleise und die Bundesstraße und gehen im Dorf rechts bis zum Gasthof Ramona. Dann halten Sie sich links, den Gießenbach folgend bis nach Scharnitz.Gehzeit: ca. 1 ½ Std. Schwierigkeitsgrad: leicht

Reitherjoch Alm mountain hut (nos. 10 and 83)Option 1 (no. 10) – Starting from the centre of Seefeld walk towards Dorint Alpin Resort Seefeld/Tirol (near the bottom lift station of the Rosshütte ski area). At the entranceway to the hotel a narrow path branches off to the left to the toboggan track. After an uphill walk of around ½ hour the track joins trail no. 10 (sign-posted ‘Reitherjoch Alm’). From the branch-off it takes around ½ hour to walk to the Reitherjoch Alm hut (food and drink available). Walking time: approx.1 ½ hours (easy). Option 2 (no. 83 and no. 10) – Starting from the centre of Seefeld follow Reitherspitzstraße to Seefeld secondary school (Neue Mittelschule). Turn right onto Römerweg. Just before the railway crossing turn left and cross the narrow bridge towards the main road, then cross the road. NB: At the fence turn left onto trail no. 83 (signposted ‘Reitherjoch Alm’), which later joins trail no. 10 to the Reitherjoch Alm hut (food and drink available).Walking time: approx. 2 hours Level of difficulty: moderate

Circular walk Seefeld - Brunschkopf high-altitude trail - Seefeld (no. 60)Starting from the Kirchwald area follow the Hörmannweg trail (no. 2) towards the Wildmoosalm. At around the half-way point branch off to your left and follow the Brunschkopf-Höhenweg high-altitude trail to Mösern. From Mösern return to Seefeld along trail no. 2Walking time: approx. 3 ½ hoursLevel of difficulty: moderate

Walking path to Lehenwald (nos. 65, 66 and 64)The walk begins along the Kurhotel Promenade or the Panoramaweg trail (no. 65) to the former Hotel Schnee-weiß. Here the trail branches off in a northerly direction through the Mühlwald forest. After around 300 m you come to the first fork – the trail that leads left takes you back to Seefeld via the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant. The trail to the right (no. 66) initially leads through the forest and later crosses the Seebach stream to the old power station. Following the brook downstream the trail leads towards the Bodenalm hut (open in summer only) before it branches off to the left, crosses the stream, passes a few houses and leads to the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant (trail no. 64).Walking time Seefeld-Lehenwald-Triendlsäge-Seefeld: approx. 2 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy

Triendlsäge - Seefeld (no. 68)Option 1 – The return route to Seefeld initially leads along a small road to Leutascher Straße then past the bottom station of the Birken lift. Continue along the road, up the hill and along the Leutascher Straße pavement to Seefeld. Walking time: approx. 1 ¼ hours (easy)Option 2 – From the Triendlsäge restaurant follow the road in the direction of Seefeld. After around 10 minutes follow the signposts for Geigenbühel (trail no. 68) as far as the Lärchenstüberl restaurant. From there walk along the road, past Hotel Lärchenhof and Hotel Astoria, back to the village centre.Walking time: approx. 1 ¼ hoursLevel of difficulty: easy

Seefeld – Triendlsäge (nos. 68 + 1)Option 1 – Starting on Münchner Straße branch off towards Geigenbühel either at the pharmacy or beside Hotel Seefelderhof, walk past the Prachenskyhof apartments, across open terrain and onto the Panoramaweg trail in a northerly direction until you reach the edge of the forest. Turn left and follow the trail through the woods to the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant. Alternatively you can start from the northern edge of Seefeld and, via the Kurhotel Promenade or the road to the former Hotel Schneeweiß, you can join the walking trail to the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant (trail no. 1. NB: steeply sloping in places. Sturdy footwear required). Walking time: approx. 1 ¼ hours Level of difficulty: easyOption 2 – Starting from the centre of Seefeld follow Münchner Straße and, at the pharmacy, turn left towards Geigenbühel, past Hotel Astoria and Hotel Lärchenhof, to the Lärchenstüberl restaurant. There follow the sign-posts for ‘Triendlsäge’ (trail no. 68) through the forest to the bridge (NB: steeply sloping section, sturdy footwear required), then continue to your right along the road to the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant. Walking time: approx. 1 ¼ hours Level of difficulty: easy

Circular walk Triendlsäge - Lehenwald (nos. 69, 19 and 1)Circular walk distance approx. 6 km. Starting from the Triendlsäge mountain restaurant walk down towards the valley in a northerly direction, along the edge of the Klammbach stream to the houses in the hamlet of Lehen-wald. Before crossing the stream turn left and follow the trail alongside the Drahnbach stream until it merges with the forest track. Keeping to your left climb the steadily ascending track until you are around 600 m from Neuleutasch. Branch off to your left and walk down towards the valley and back to the Triendlsäge restaurant. Walking time: approx.1 ¾ hours Alternative option: On the forest track continue towards Leutasch and from there branch off to your left to Seefeld (approx. 3 km) or to your right to Leutasch (5 km) in approx. 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy

MÖSERNMösern-Seefeld (no. 2)At the end of the village of Mösern turn left onto trail no. 2 and walk through the forest to the WM-Casino indoor tennis centre.Walking time: approx.1 hourLevel of difficulty: easy

Mösern-Lottensee lake (no. 2)Starting from Gasthof Menthof walk in a westerly direction along the Pirschsteig track (no. 2) to the Lottensee-hütte lakeside hut. Return by the same route.Walking time: approx.1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy

SNOWSHOE HIKING TRAILS IN THEOLYMPIAREGION SEEFELD

BRUNSCHKOPF (S1)Starting point: Wildmoosalm (hut). Walking time: 2.5 hours, approx. 5 kmTurn left in front of the hut Wildmoosalm and follow the panorama trail Brunschkopf (route no. 63) to the viewpoint Brunschkopf viewing point (route no. 62) via the elevation Möserer Höhe (route no. 61). Then at the junction, follow trail Blattsteig (route no. 60) to Mösern.

GSCHWANDTKOPF (S2)Starting point: Seefeld, lake Wildsee. Walking time: 2.5 hours, approx. 5 kmAt the Wildsee transformer installation, follow ascent no. 86 to the top of the mountain Gschwandtkopf. The descent takes you over the high pastures Gschwandtkopf-mähder (no. 86) to the Alpenkönig hotel.

HOHE FLUDER (S3)Starting point: Leutasch/Kreith. Walking time: 4 hours, approx. 9 kmAt the chapel Kreithkapelle, follow route no. 38/39.After the elevation Hohe Fluder, descend to mountain saddle Hoher Sattel. Turn left at the natural toboggan run and follow route no. 18 to Leutasch/Ahrn.

TO THE ALPINE HUT RAUTHHÜTTE (S4)Starting point: Buchen, inn Ropferstub’m. Walking time: 3 hours, approx. 4 kmFrom the inn Ropferstub’m stay on the route no. 27 until you reach the main street. After crossing the street, follow route no. 24 to elevation Katzenloch. Ascend to the hut Rauthhütte on route no. 99. Descend via the old ski run to Leutasch/Moos.

MÜHLBERG (S5)Starting point: Scharnitz, former lift Mühlberglift. Walking time: 1.5 hours, approx. 4,5 kmTake the toboggan run to the mountain station and return on the former ski run to the starting point.

ISARSTEIG -NEDERWEG (S6)Starting point: Scharnitz, on the right after Taxi Mair.Walking time: 1.5 hours, approx. 2,5 kmAfter Taxi Mair on the right, along the timber road, then take the trail Isarsteig no. 57 until the bridge before the Gaugg gravel works. Continue to the hut Scharnitzer Alm and then take the trail Nederweg across the river Isar to the inn Gasthof Wiesenhof.

TO CHAPEL BIRZLKAPELLE (S7)Starting point: Scharnitz, information office. Walking time: 2 hours, approx. 5 km Cross the railway behind the information office and turn left in direction trail Plattsteig - chapel Birzlkapelle. Follow the signs for the circuit Rundwanderweg until you reach the chapel.

Follow the route to the trail Karwendelweg, turn right back to Scharnitz.

Mösern-Ropferstub’m (nos. 2 and 27)A variation on the Mösern-Lottensee lake walk (trail no. 2). At the Lottenseehütte lakeside hut walk left past the garage buildings then follow trail no. 27 to the Gasthof Ropferstub’m restaurant.Walking time: 1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy

Möserer See lake (no. 4)Starting from the information office follow the Brochweg trail to Hotel Tyrol and, from there, follow the signposts for ‘Möserer See’.Walking time: 1 hour Level of difficulty: easy

Mösern-Wildmoosalm-Lottensee lake-Mösern (nos. 60, 2, 3 and 2)Starting from the Möserersee lake follow trail no. 60 to the Wildmoosalm mountain inn. Continue via the Ferienheim Wildmoos inn to the Lottenseehütte lakeside hut before following trail no. 2 back to Mösern.Walking time: approx. 3 ½ hours Level of difficulty: easy

REITHReith - Leithen (no. 14)The trail to Leithen, which is flat for the most part, branches off to the left at the railway underpass at the southernmost edge of the village of Reith. Walking time: approx.1 hour Level of difficulty: easy

Reitherjoch Alm (nos. 14 and 10)Starting from the information office in Reith walk towards the railway station then turn right and follow trail no. 14 (Bee Nature Trail) to the Maxhütte hut, then follow the signs for ‘Reitherjoch Alm’ (food and drink available). This walking trail is also a toboggan track (no. 10).Walking time: approx.1 ½ hours Food and drink available in the hut. NB: No toboggan rental!

Panoramic Trail in Reith (89)Starting from Reith railway station follow the trail that runs parallel to the railway line (trail no. 14) to where it branches off to the right to the Nördlinger Hütte hut leading above the village of Reith. The Höll-talweg and Kaiserstandweg trails take you back to Reith. Food and drink are available at Rasler’s Laden.Walking time: approx.1 ½ hours Level of difficulty: moderate
