Pablo Castilla fotografeerde de voorbije jaren voornamelijk in de streek rond Granada. Hij probeert daarbij weg te blijven van een typisch economische reportage (Spanje gaat al jaren gebukt onder het juk van een vastgoedcrisis), maar kiest resoluut voor de evocatie van een andere realiteit.
"The theatrical and artificial are at the core of these images" schrijft hij "Although all the images originate from ordinary life and common places, many of the images have a layer of ambiguity - sometimes absurdity - that may question the nature of their authenticity."

Bruno Roels vertelt aan iedereen die het horen wil, dat hij een luie mens is en dat hij daardoor alleen maar zijn eigen leven fotografeert. Hij is daarbij in zeer goed gezelschap: de oeuvres van de Japanse fotograaf Daido Moriyama en van de Zweed Anders Petersen bestaan bijna uitsluitend uit dit soort diaristic photography.
Roels gelooft in grote hoeveelheden foto's, uitdeinende reeksen waar de onderliggende motieven en thema's vanzelf komen bovendrijven. Uitleg is niet nodig, het is aan de kijker om zelf op zoek te gaan naar betekenissen.
Hij heeft onlangs zijn eerste 'self-published' boek uitgebracht, hij vatte het op als een conversatie tussen 99 zwart-witbeelden en titelde het zonder veel poeha 'Ninety-nine Photographs by Bruno Roels'.

In 2013 werd de Brusselse fotografe Laurie Polson geselecteerd voor een drie maanden durende residentie in Suriname.
In Botopasi, een Saramaccaans dorpje dicht tegen de Surinamerivier, maakte ze een wonderlijke fotoreportage. Aan de rand van het regenwoud legde ze het leven vast in een reeks onbevangen, maar perfect geconstrueerde registraties.

Fotografe Miles Fischler is bezig aan een interessante reeks waarin ze 'Google Earth' beelden als found footage behandelt. In een interview in The Word omschreef ze het als volgt: "I have been working on this new series for a few months now, but it is still a work in progress. It consists of screenshots of places I found on Google Earth. I started making this series by coincidence. I found one image which led to another and so on. The screenshots mostly show isolated buildings or other man-made structures. They often seem surreal or even absurd at times, the 45 degrees perspective also plays a big part in this."
