tHe pLan.Spend some time relaxing in the Westerpark, cycle to the Jordaan or enjoy the sunshine on a terrace in the city. Living on the Van Hogendorpstraat is about much more than just coming home. Are you a young professional and always on the go? You can put that behind you now because a home on the Van Hogendorpstraat has every-thing you need: luxury with an authentic feel, peace and bustle at the same time and a central location. In short: it’s the ultimate city property!this new complex features high-quality architecture and the contemporary materials used allow it to blend in well with its historic surroundings. Viewed from the street side, the structure per floor is as follows: a transparent plinth with commercial premises, three identical floors with residential properties and a fourth floor consisting of properties under one optical roof (actually just a flat roof), being a nod to stepped gables, and a number of outdoor spaces situated between the stair fronts. In re-cent years, many properties in the popular staatslieden neighbourhood have been renovated to a high standard and restored to their former glory. the neighbourhood has a range of great local shops, bars and eating esta-blishments and supermarkets and a number of other shops can be found in the nearby Van Limburg stirum-straat: all just a short walk away. the apartment com-plex is situated close to the Westerpark, where a wide range of cultural activities are organised throughout the year. the welcoming shopping streets in the Jordaan are literally just around the corner too and on saturdays it will take you no time at all to bike to the noordermarkt

LoCatIon. the staatslieden neighbourhood is the biggest in West amsterdam and has had an eventful history. the heart of the neighbourhood can be found on the Van Limburg stirumstraat. this is a typical 1980s street, full of arches and colours, and the ideal place to do your grocery shopping.

traditionally, the neighbourhood was home to public sector employees like tram dri-vers. In the 1950s, these residents moved away to homes in the Bos en Lommer area of amsterdam. In the 1970s and 1980s, the staatslieden neighbourhood became a squatters’ stronghold; some of the original students and artists still live in the neigh-bourhood today. the district is home to creative and enterprising people with a relati-vely high level of education. art and culture feature to an above-average extent, partly as a result of the many artists that live there. a whole range of cultural activities are organised and new artists are still being attracted to the area. residents describe the district as a village in the city. However, the district does have an urban feel too; it’s a successful example of diverse living: it combines aspects of trendy, bustling West amsterdam with the busy, fast-moving feel of the city centre. Most properties in this district have been the subject of sympathetic renovation, because of which they still retain their original character. as a result, the staatslieden neighbourhood is current-ly the biggest unspoiled dutch working-class area in the city. this district’s varied history is still a very important influence to this day. every population group and 90 different cultures are represented there too. people from every line of work live in the neighbourhood - ranging from artists through to estate agents. the neighbourhood forms part of the Westerpark area. residents like to use the park that has now been established on the former Westergasfabriek site which houses a lot of cultural events and is a very good reflection of the spirit of the area. the staatslieden neighbourhood is the biggest in West amsterdam and has had an eventful history. the heart of the neighbourhood can be found on the Van Limburg stirumstraat. this is a typical 1980s street, full of arches and colours, and the ideal place to do your grocery shopping.
