Tip: Confirm the times and location ofspecial sessions and try to attend beforethey fill up. Having immediate access toadmissions directors and alumni can bevery helpful in answering your questions,so try not to miss these informative events!

Tip: Try to visit with each of the schoolsthat are participating in this event.Admissions directors want to meet youand learn more about your MBA interestsand goals. The more you know about youroptions, the easier it will be to make thedecision that is best for you!

Tip: Try and do a little advance researchon those schools you want to meet the mostat the fair. Even if you are unable to learnanything about these programs ahead oftime, use your time with the admissionsdirector to ask those questions that youwon’t find the answers to either in thisguide or on the schools’ web sites.Examples of questions to ask school repre-sentatives include:• What is a typical day like for students at

your school?• How accessible are faculty members to

students? • Are there opportunities for students to

get involved in research projects withfaculty members?

• How active is the Career Services Officein helping students find internships andjobs?

• What sorts of activities exist for thespouses and partners of your currentstudents?

• How active is the alumni network?• What is your city or town like?• What makes an applicant to your

program successful?

Tip: The fairs can be very busy, especiallyat the beginning of the event. To ensurethat you will be able to talk with the busi-ness school programs that interest you themost, locate where they are in the fairroom and watch for a time when theirtable isn’t so crowded.

Tip: Try to be patient while you await yourturn to speak to the school representative.Listen to the questions that other prospec-tive students ask of the school reps. Youmay get some good information that youhadn’t thought to ask!

Tip: Please be mindful that your peers areawaiting a school representative or alumni’sattention. Avoid asking several questionsin succession. If you are interested in aschool and would like to continue convers-ing with program representatives, ask fora brochure or a business card. Admissionsdirectors welcome emails from interestedcandidates and would be happy to answerany of your follow up questions after thefair!

Tip: Most of all, enjoy the fair! Learn asmuch as you can about the many optionsfor MBA study so that you can pick theprogram that is right for you!
