Today’s problems are
• cross-national (many countries face
the same problems)
• international (they go beyond borders)
• Influenced by a lot of stakeholders and
not only owned by the old institutional
forces
• Therefore only managed / solved by
both public organizations, private
parties and commitment from society
• Following new technologies (which can
also be used to solve them)

1. Although it’s in English, you will pass this Master
2. This master is not a new master’s programme: it is a redesign of the current Master Bestuurskunde
3. It will not become a mathematical studies. Economic literature is predominantly about institutional economy
4. You don’t have to write your thesis in English if you prefer not to (but most likely you want to do it in English anyway )
5. It’s definitely possible to do an internship (instead of the ‘Thesis Tutorial’)
6. This Master does fit a regional approach (with the international comparison, you’ll be better in applying best practices to your regional job)
Six possible misunderstandings with concern to the redesign of the Master
