    5Safety precautions

BluetoothYour phone has a Bluetooth interface. Thismakes it possible to establish a wirelessconnection with your phone and a headset,

car kit, or other Bluetooth-enabled devices. In order to establish a secure link betweenthe devices and to prevent a third partyfrom having access to your phone, youshould observe the following points: The initial connection between two

devices, what is called "pairing", shouldtake place in familiar surroundings.

Both devices must be able to identifythemselves once by using a pass-word/PIN. To ensure sufficient security, you should choose a 16-digit numbercombination for a password that wouldbe difficult to guess (if a PIN has not beenassigned).

An automatic connection acceptance("connection without confirmation")should only be used in exceptional cases.

In general, only trustworthy devicesshould be linked in order to minimizesecurity risks.

You should restrict the "visibility"of yourphone if possible. This will make it muchmore difficult for unknown devices toestablish a connection with your phone. To do this, in the Bluetooth menu, setthe option Visible t. othersfrom Alwaysvisibleto Not visible(see page 68).

The name of your phone is transmitted ina Bluetooth connection. The factory de-fault is the "Bluetooth ID". The first timeBluetooth is activated, or later in theBluetooth menu, you can change thisname (My BT info, page 68).

If Bluetooth is not needed, this functionshould be deactivated.

Before using Bluetooth accessories, or amobile phone inside a vehicle, check thevehicle user guide for any limitations on theuse of these products.

The Bluetoothword mark and logos areowned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and any useof such marks by BenQ Corp. is underlicence. Other trademarks and tradenames are those of their respectiveowners.
