• DG-Agro traject Bodemvruchtbaarheid mondiaal

Belangrijkste boodschappen over markten
• Prices on a higher plateau• Production expanding at slower rate• Growing demand for food, feed, fuel• Scope for area expansion limited
(<5%)
• Increasing productivity is key • But in a more sustainable way

Stijgende prijzen
• Stronger economic growth outside OECD
• Consumption grows outside OECD
• Oilseeds• Poultry and dairy
• Upward revision of energy prices

Farming Systems
Conclusie
• The case of small-scale agriculture for food security is particularly relevant for Asia and Africa – the two continents with the largest underexploited potential for yield increase
• 2. Intensievere rotaties/systemen• 3. Verminderen verliezen• 4. Verminderen landdegradatie• 5. Nieuw land• resettlement en/of "private investment" (land grabbing)• High economic and societal cost
12 april 2023Ministerie van Economische Zaken, Landbouw en Innovatie14
Conclusie
• Kortom: Inclusive Development
12 april 2023Ministerie van Economische Zaken, Landbouw en Innovatie15
Belangrijke aspecten• Commercialisatie smallholder
• Markt als uitgangpunt
• Sector/keten/cluster ontwikkeling in combinatie met
• Versterken en robust maken Farmingsystem en livelihood
• kortom:
• Gaat om creëren positieve spiraal transitie

Integrated Soil Fertility Management• A set of soil fertility management practices that necessarily include
the use of fertilizer, organic inputs and improved germplasm, combined with knowledge on how to adapt these practices to local conditions, aimed at maximizing agronomic use efficiency of the applied nutrients and improving crop productivity.
• All inputs need to be managed following sound agronomic principles.
• The definition acknowledges the need for integration of improved germplasm, organic inputs, plus variability in production factor factors for maximum fertilizer Agricultural Efficiency
• Both organic inputs and fertilizer are scarce resources and require strategies for maximum ‘effectiveness’ both on short and long term
