• geoperationaliseerd (voorzien van een gebruiksdoel en kort-cyclisch)
• relevant voor de praktijk van de zorgverlening (gericht op probleem
en/of risico)
• valide: meet de indicator wat het bedoelt te meten ten aanzien van de
kwaliteit van zorg
• in staat veranderingen in kwaliteit te signaleren
• statistisch onderscheidend
• casemix gecorrigeerd
• betrouwbaar te registeren: iedereen registreert op dezelfde manier en
de registratie is volledig
Eisen te stellen aan uitkomstindicatoren
Operationalisatie en relevantie
• Voorbeeld: % patiënten met graad 3/4/5 complicaties binnen 30 dagen
na longresectie/lobectomie.
• Operationalisatie: geeft een indicatie van de kwaliteit van het chirurgisch
handelen (zorgvuldigheid, hygiëne, kundigheid) en van de kwaliteit van
de nazorg.
• Relevantie: gericht op de ernstige risico’s gepaard gaande met
longresectie/lobectomie.
