It should not be a unilateral, on sided view, but ideally an interactive experience, where both viewer and the public sculpture together determine what happens next. EX-STRATA is such an interactive Light, Sound and Motion Sculpture, which changes according to the actions of the viewer and participant! The EX-STRATA sculpture is equipped with RGB LED-lighting, SMS reception, Internet connection, webcam, motion sensors and speakers. In response to SMS-messages and activation of the distance sensors by visitors, the sculpture produces color, light and sound patterns. Through a webcam, the EX-STRATA can be viewed and via the SMS function it can be manipulated from all over the world. In 2011 the Tsinghua University in Beijing commissioned the EX STRATA #2 (6m) for their 100 year Anniversary. EX STRATA #3 is currently in the project design phase with the NHL Hogeschool in Leeuwarden, Netherlands, which commissioned it in 7m and equipped with state of the art electronics and a new website. Official unveiling is scheduled for Summer 2013. Now Ralfonso is in contact with both Universities, to connect the 2 sculptures via the internet, so Chinese Students can send the Dutch Students Light and Sound Messages. maandag 7 oktober 13 9.
