December 18—Fourth Sunday of Advent The Gospel today tells of the Virgin Mary, pregnant herself, hurrying off to help her cousin Elizabeth. The model of good stewardship, she who had given herself to bear the Savior gave her time and love to others as well.

STEWARDSHIP IN ACTION The Wisemen gave their precious gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. As you get

busier and busier, your greatest gifts to others may be pa-tience and kindness.

☺ Ministers, Lectors, Altar Servers & Greeters ☺ Please let Cindy know availability info for the January—February schedule. Please email, call or drop a note in the parish office as soon as possible. Thank you.

Thank you everyone for your amazing generosity! The recipient groups were all very thrilled with the gifts received!

Starting in January, 2017 daily Mass on Wednesdays only will move to 6pm in the hopes of making daily Mass availa-ble to more people.

The Workers Are Few Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were

harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Mt 4: 18-22

Catholic Charities Collection Without the faithful and generous support of our par-ishes, we could not continue to transform lives and bring compassion and dignity to over 70,000 vulner-able individuals each year. This Christmas, please donate to the Catholic Charities Collection. Your gift matters! If you did not receive a donation brochure in the mail more are available in the gathering area under the poster. Gifts may be placed in the collection at Masses, mailed or made online at www.CatholicCharitiesSpokane.org. Catholic Charites is providing Real Solutions for Real Needs in our community.

Just as Mary desired a sign to verify the presence of the Di-vine within herself, we sometimes need outward signs to re-mind us that God is present. Pray: “O God of Rejoicing, open my heart, that I might recognize the fortuitous signs you have placed before me. Touch my soul, that I might respond with rejoicing to the wonders of your abiding love. Most of all, infuse me with your Spirit, that I too might bring forth the Word of God into the world. Amen” Adapted from “Advent and Christmas with the Saints” Compiled by Anthony F Chiffolo
