A Matou Tikanga: A Matou Tikanga for this week is: I know my learning goals and take steps to achieve them. This shows the value of Ako. Class Photo Orders: A reminder that photo order envelopes with the money inside has to be given to the class teacher. A display photo is put up in your child’s classroom. Last day for ordering class photos is Friday 21st June 2019. Measles Vaccine: In view of the recent outbreak of measles and reported cases at our school, it is important that all students are vaccinated against measles. Normally, Kiwi kids receive the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) injections at 15 months and four years of age. If your child is not immunised, please let the school office know. It is free to get vaccinated if you’re a New Zealand resident born after 1 January 1969. Contact your general practitioner or call 0800 IMMUNE (0800 466 863) for more information. Lucky Book Club: Issue 4 brochures have been sent home. A reminder that Friday 21st June is the last day for ordering books from this Issue. Student Led Conferences (SLCs): This is such an important event for us all. Students have spent time preparing to share their learning with you, talking about their learning goals and making sure that they know where they are at with their learning. They are busy preparing to tell a family member or friend all about their learning. Booking forms are being sent home with students today. If you do not receive one, please fill out the slip below and return it to school as soon as possible. The dates for these SLCs are Wednesday 3rd July and Thursday 4th July, 2019. Please book these dates in your diary. We are keen to be a role model to our students and, as a result, improve nutrition and oral health. BoT Election Update: Today, the BoT votes will be counted and the elected members will take office tomorrow. The first BoT meeting with the newly elected members will be on Wednesday 19th June. All are welcome. Whanau Hui: There will be a whanau planning hui for Matariki tonight from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. As always we would appreciate as much whanau support as possible to make this event as enjoyable and full of learning opportunities for our children as we can. Matariki: Prospect School will be having our annual Matariki events from Monday 24th June to Friday 28th June. Massive thanks to all of the whanau members and community groups who have put their hands up to help with this. As always whanau who wish to come in and support our children are welcome to join us. If anyone would like to volunteer to provide extra help please see your classroom teachers. Ng ā M ām ā o Amanaki Mums of Prospect School students - We have a new group running to give Mums space to hang out and chat, share and support each other. Feel free to pop in have a cup of tea and biscuits and talk to other Mums - Tuesday afternoons 3:00pm-5:00pm in the Prospect School Hub.
