THE

CAMBRIDGE LAW JOUXNAL

PROFESSOR W. W. BUCKLAD.

IT is no exaggeration to say that there are hundreds who will join us in congratulating Professor Buck-

land, or rather in congratulating the Cambridge Law

School, on the approach of his eightieth birthday, and on the retention of a vigour that time has not touched.

He would not wish us on this occasion to enumerate his

illustrious services to scholarship and to Cambridge.

Some account of these may be found in the volume of Cambridge Legal Essays presented to Dr. Bond, Pr fessor Buckland and Professor Kenny in 1926; and a list

of his writings will be found on a later page of this 30urnal. lIere we will reluctantly confine ourselves to

assuring his pupils and friends the world over that his

eye is not dim nor his natural force abated, and express-

ing the hope that we may be able to draw for many

years to come on the inexhaustible riches of his learning

and wisdom. C.L.J. 1
