唐宋詩欣賞 INTRODUCTION TO TANG &SONG POETRY 中一 必(2 ─ 0) (0 — 2) 唐詩為中國詩歌之黃金時期,名篇佳作如林;宋詩繼唐而起,別闢新境,樹立一代風格,名篇亦多有可觀。若論唐詩之異,或曰唐詩以韻,故渾雅,而貴蘊藉空靈;宋詩以意勝,故精能,而貴深折透闢。或曰芍藥海棠,穠華繁釆;宋詩如寒梅秋菊,幽韻冷香。……故謂唐宋兩朝詩歌為吾國詩壇雙高峰,取一捨一,殊為可惜。本課程之開設目的即為兼採唐宋名詩而品味之。

The Tang Dynasties was the prime time of Chinese poetry with countless masterpieces. The poetry in the Song Dynasty, also with a significant number of masterpieces, followed and created a different atmosphere and mode of creation. Tang poetry is characterized by its perfect rhyming and elegance and, therefore, is rich and restrained. Song poetry is famous for its artistic conceptions and, therefore, is analytical. Tang poetry is like the peonia or the begonia, while Song poetry is like the winter plum or autumn chrysanthemum

現代文學概論 INTRODUCTION TO MODERN LITERATURE 中一 必 (2 ─ 0) (0 — 2) 本課程主要在介紹我國現代文學的內涵,概述其起源和發展軌跡,諸如:胡適與新文學運動、文言與白話之爭、文人結社組會鳥瞰、右派人士和左翼作家的論爭三十年代文學、國民黨與共產黨文藝政策等,均列為要目。另一方面,則著重在現代詩、散文、小說、戲劇等文體的創作趨勢和成就之評述,同時也探討其與西洋文學思潮的關係。務使學生對中國現代文學的精神及面貌,能獲得正確而完整之瞭解,並奠定進一步深入研究的基礎。 This course is designed to introduce Chinese modern literature, its origin and development. Topics include Hushi and New Literature Movement, the debate between the literary language and vernacular style of writing, the establishment of clubs or associations by writers, the disputes between the rightists and leftists, the literature in the 30s, the literary policies of the Kuomingtang and the Communists. The focus is also placed on the creative trends and achievement of modern poetry, prose, fiction, drama and its relationship with the thoughts of Western literature. The purpose is to help students understand the outlook of the modern Chinese literature and thus build up their base for further research.

中國思想史 CHINESE HISTORY OF THOUGHT 中四 必 (3 ─ 3) 本科目之主要目標,是嘗試為中文系同學在瞭解中國文化、歷史傳統時,能掌握其中之思想要素,並使其能對中國思想之流變、分疏與整合,有一通盤之理解。講述之範圍大致有:(一)先秦諸子;(二)兩漢思想史;(三)魏晉玄學;(四)隋唐佛學;(五)宋明理學;(六)中國近代思想史等。 The course is designed to help students understand Chinese culture and history and at the same time be able to grasp the essential elements in them and help them realize the development, separation, and integrations of Chinese thoughts. 二、系選修科目論語 LUN YU中一 選(2—0)本科目教學目標,在使學生瞭解論語經文之意義及孔子學說之精華,進而應用於日常生活、為人處事之上。The aim of the course is to inform students of understanding the meaning of the book Lun Yu , and of the implications of confucian theories , whereby the course could lead to the applications by students of Confucianism to the modern society and daily life.

孟子 MENG ZI中一 選(0—2)本科目教學目標,在使學生瞭解孟子經文之意義及孟子學說之精華,進而應用於日常生活、為人處事之上。The aim of the course is to inform students of understanding the meaning of the book Meng Zi, and of the implications of Meng Zi, theories, where by the course could lead to the applications by students of confucianism to the modern society and daily life.

The mythology, traditional stories or tales, and ballad of early period, and the novels, modern poetry, and prose composition prevalent during the later period of 80s.2. The classical literature of Han poetry , that is , the classical Chinese composition of Manchu dynasty.3.The new literature during the period of Japan domination. 現代文學作品欣賞 Modern Literature Appreciation中一 (2—0)精選中國現代著名作家的優秀作品,分詩歌、小說、戲劇、散文數單元進行教學教師講授為主,輔以課堂討論、提問、課後作業、多媒體教學,以提高學生對現代文學名著的欣賞水平,培養學生的口頭、書面表達能力,並認識中國現代文學的歷史與審美價值。This course covers the masterpieces of the famous Chinese modern writers, classified into poetry, fiction, drama and essays. The conduction of the class will be teacher-centered, supplemented with classroom question, discussion, classwork and mass-media teaching, aiming at improving students’ ability to appreciate the famous works of modern literature, developing their expressiveness in both speaking and writing and helping them to recognize the historic and aesthetic value of Chinese modern literature.

The course is designed to introduce children’s literature, its definition, characteristics, genres, and principles of creation. Special topics on nursery rhymes, children’s poetry, mythology, fables, children’s fictions and dramas, are respectively introduced to help students understand the themes and principle behind the creativity of children’s literature through in-depth analysis of popular works. The course serves not only as a foundation of appreciation and creation of children’s literature but also a prerequisite for a training in Mandarin Chinese teaching.

現代散文選讀及習作 MODERN PROSE & EXERCISES 中一 選 (2 ─ 2) 本課程精選中國現當代散文名篇佳作,從文體、語言、技法、風格到思想內涵美學趣味一一作詳細的分析,不惟使學生通過這些名篇家作的精細閱讀以了解現當代中國散文藝術之成就,亦將借鑒其藝術之經驗,通過揣摩、體會以及創作的實踐,掌握散文寫作的基本要領和規範。This course studies celebrated modern and contemporary literary essays, in terms of style, language, technique, deep meaning and aesthetic taste. 現代戲劇 MODERN DRAMA 中一 選 (2 — 2) 本課程旨在導引學生認識現代舞台劇的發展與現況,戲劇、文學和其他藝術以及人生的關係。從戲劇的流變來看現代戲劇的表現形式與舞台藝術。經由當季戲劇節目的觀賞與討論,來提昇觀賞技巧,藉著基礎表演練習與劇本寫作實習,期使學生對戲劇認識更具體。 The course is designed to introduce students to the development of modern drama and its relationship to literature, other arts, and human life. Through the historical change of drama, they can appreciate different forms of expression and theatrical art. Through viewing and discussions of contemporary drama performance, they can enhance their techniques of appreciation. Through basic performances and playwriting, they can increase their understanding about theatrical art.

詩文誦讀 RECITATION OF ANCIENT CHINESE POEMS AND PROSES中二 選 (2—0)詩文是以語言文字為媒介之藝術。吾人皆知,言以載道;言之工者謂之文,言之尤工者謂之詩。虞書有謂:「詩言志,歌永言,聲依永,律和聲。」禮記中亦云:「詩,言其志也;歌,詠其聲也;舞,動其容也。三者本於心。」詩言志,所謂

「心之所之」,是包涵人類表現之一切心靈活動。而言以載道,或文以載道,「載道」是否僅止於「為道德教訓而文藝」,其實,凡是為人處世之理,都在「道」中真感情、真思想之本身,即是「道」。因此,「言志」與「載道」其實無異。  讀書求學之目的有二;一為經世實用,一為陶冶性情;經世實用,其道太閎,有真知者始能體悟。真知如孔子,亦嘆「吾道不行」,本課程即為「詩文朗讀」,是當以陶冶性情為主,但却多「寓情於用」。姚姬傳氏謂:「文章之精妙,不出字句聲色之間,舍此便無可窺尋」。因此,凡文學形式所表現之性格、情境、意象、聲調、色相等,都在此中。知文學之美,亦是藝術之美。Poetry is an art with words as its medium. Writings should carry morals. Prose requires crafts, while verse requires talents. According to Book of Yu, poetry is used to express one’s aspiration, complete with rhythm and harmony. Book of Rites also states that poetry is an expression of aspiration; songs, forms of vocalization; dancing, a movement of body. All three of them come from the heart. Poetry records all activities of the mind. Words are used to carry morals, on which all human conducts and emotions are based. Therefore, aspirations and morals are the same. We study for two purposes; one, making ourselves useful to the society; the other, cleansing our spirit. Even Confucius, one of the prophets, sighed, “Our way can’t prevail.” The course is designed to cleanse students’ spirit through reading poetry aloud. Yaojizhuanshi once said, “A fine piece of writing lies in its sounds and images, nothing less.” Therefore, one can find various dispositions, sentiments, concepts, tones of voice, and images in all forms of literature and realize beauty in literature is also beauty of art.

莊子 Zhangzi中二 選(0—2)本課程的講授,分三個方面:一是導論,對學習《莊子》一書的意義、價值以及《莊子》一書的總體結構作出說明。二是選讀,你選擇《莊子》一書中有代表性的若干寓言及段落,字字落實地加以疏解,並對於其所蘊含的哲理予以闡述。三是討論,擬選擇兩個論題作系統講解:1、《莊子》中的大木形象與意象思維,2、《莊》系文風的構成及其瓦解過程。This course consists of following three aspects: (1) Introduction to Zhuangzi, including the significance and value of learning Zhuangzi, and general structure of Zhuangzi. (2) Selected reading with some representative fables and passages of Zhuangzi, detailed explanationst and exposition of their underlying philosophical theory. (3) Special review , it intends to talk about two topics systematically: first, big tree image and imagery thin king; second, Zhuangzi`s stylistic construction and its dissolution.

書法研究 STUDY OF CHINESE CALLIGRAPHY 中二 選 (2 ─ 0) 一、首先介紹文房四寶之基本常識。包括材料之選擇、使用、保養…等注意事項。 二、其次介紹書法作品之各種形式、名稱、幅度。 三、書法用筆之基本知識及筆觸之練習。 四、楷書之基本筆法、分析及練習。 五、各體書法之示範。(包括篆隸楷行草) 六、字體結構之技法。 七、如時間許可,將旁及書法理論之研討。1. Basic knowledge about the “four treasures of the studio”--writing brush, ink, ink

左傳 TSUO CHUAN 中二 選 (2 ─ 2) 身為中國人,必須明白中國歷史;前哲如何記述,來者如何承受,方能保存民族根性,以生存獨立於今日之世界,不致對國事之盛衰得失一無所知。由古鑑今故取左丘明所依孔子所作春秋二百四十二年之史事,擇其有益於鑑古知今者,選授諸生,以為立身處世之助。 Chinese history is basic knowledge. Studying history allows one to get to know the national character and current national affairs. The famous commentary by Zuo Qiu Ming on Confucius’ The Spring and Autumn Annals, or Tsuo Chuan, has been chosen to familiarize students with the part of history that help them keep things in perspective.

史記 THE RECORDS OF THE GRAND HISTORIAN 中二 選 (2 — 2) 史記是一部從五帝到漢武、上下兩千多年的紀傳體通史,為司馬遷「究天人之際通古今之變,成一家之言」的融貫之作。其人不惟忠於史學,直筆是非,而其書亦兼具哲學及文學的特質,再加之遍歷名山大川,匯集各地風習故實,是以其文雄深雅健,奔放自然,而尤具奇特之氣。後世文人學士,仿其筆法,循其理路自我裁成者不一而足。是以本課程,於教學之際,期能使學者,曉悟其史義,學習其筆法,領會其思維,鎔鑄於心,以陶養通權達變之士為目標。 The Records of the Grand Historian is an integrated history covering a period of more than 2000 years, written in biographical style. A literary as well as a philosophical classic, it’s a masterpiece by Si Maqian, a great historian and critic. His spontaneous and elegant style of writing derives from his extensive traveling experience and broad knowledge of local customs. The purpose of the course is to help students comprehend the basic of his history writing and the rationale and motive behind, so as to develop their all-around knowledge in the study of history.

民間文學概論 INTRODUCTION TO FOLK LITERATURE 中二 選 (2 ─ 2) 本科目冀由口頭流傳的民間文學入手,介紹其作品的各種型式,並且探討其與廟堂文學關係,進而對中國文學有全面性認識。 The purpose of the course is to help students understand folk literature based on

中國文學與佛教 CHINESE LITERATURE & BUDDHISM 中二 選 (2 ─ 2) 如來寂滅千載,乃有攝摩騰、竺法蘭懷道來化,三寶遞傳,五乘教弘,初始濫觴於漢魏,中更簸蕩激揚於六朝,經乃粲然美備乎隋唐,中國佛化,蔚盛壯觀,蓋已無法不收,無機不攝。至其浸潤文學之深,舉凡散文、詩歌、詞曲、小說、戲劇、變文、詩文評等,莫不見交互言用之跡,故應旁推綜會,庶明中國文學之博大多容,能變其質,神其用也。 Buddhism came to China more than a thousand years ago, in Han and Wei Dynasties. It grew during the Six Dynasties (3rd to 6th centuries) and flourished during Sui and Tang Dynasties. Its influence extends over each aspect of literature, prose, songs, ballads, novels, dramas, chapbooks, and poetry.

文法學 GRAMMAR OF CLASSICAL CHINESE 中二 選 (2 — 2) 本課程主要目標在培養學生文言文分析之能力,從而利於文言文之學習與寫作。 The course is designed to develop students’ analytical ability in classical Chinese, thus enabling them to learn to write in classical Chinese.

修辭學 RHETORIC 中二 選 (2 ─ 2) 常人讀名篇佳作,往往知其美妙而不知其何以美妙,修辭學則指出其修辭方法,從而認識其何以美妙。常人作文,或患枯窘、或難動人,修辭學則提供修辭方法俾啟人靈感,進而創作美妙之文辭。是故修辭學之目標,一在幫助學子欣賞美妙之文辭,一在幫助學子創造美妙之文辭。 Rhetoric offers ways to inspire and create in writing. The course is designed to help students appreciate the beauty of language and learn to use elaborate language to create through learning specific rhetorical techniques in classic writings.

韓非子 HAN-FEI TZU 中三 選 (2 ─ 0) 韓非子為先秦法家集大成之作,讀之不僅可知法家特質,亦可概見其他儒、墨、道等家學術思想,又以其網羅豐富,亦可了悉經、史以外之逸文、軼事。 Han Fei-Tzu is a compendium of legalists in Qin Dynasty. Studying it, one can not only learn about legalism but also understand its relationship with Confucianism, Mocianism, and Taoism, thus getting to know a variety of anecdotes other than literary, historical, and philosophical classics.

墨子 MO TZU中三 選(0 — 2)培養同學閱讀《墨子》之興趣與能力,理解墨子思想的基本結構、思維方法及其中倫理、政治、科學、名辯等思想內涵;並瞭解墨學研究之價值與現況。The course is designed to help students develop their interest in Mo Tzu and understand his structures and methods of thoughts in ethics, politics, science, and logic lining, thus realizing the value and current situation in research of Mocianism.

現代比較文學中三 選 (0 ─ 2) 本科目以同一文本演繹出的不同形式與媒介為主要授課內容,包括小說、散文、電影、舞台劇等等。比較文學主要在探討文學或藝術形式之間的影響與關係,而非空泛的跨文化與跨民族的異同之比。期望在文學發展的嬗變中探索出不同時代與媒介的創作交互影響的結果。The contents of the course covered several series of writing types come from the same original text. The aim of the course was to, by compared literature with art, exploring the main different of modern literature texts from several novels, cinema and dramas.

現代文學史 History of Cpntemporary Chinese Literature中三 選 (2 ─ 2) 本課程主要講解 20 世紀中國現代文學史。課程主要從 3 個層面展開:文藝思潮和文學觀念;作家評析;作品評析。通過本課程的講解,學生能從整體上把握中國現代文學的發展概況,能夠提高對作家、作品的分析能力和欣賞能力。This course mainly explain the History of Cpnremporary Chinese Literature in the 20th Century. It contains three sections:A. Ideological Trends of Literature and Literary Ideas;B. Writers’ Comment and Analysis; C. Criticism on works. The course aims to make the students grasp the general develepment of Contemporary Chinese Literature, and improve the capability of appreciation to writers and their works as well.

荀子 HSUN TZU 中三 選 (2 ─ 2) 本科目以探索荀子思想為主,並旁及其與先秦其他諸子,如孟子、老子、莊子、墨子,及其他法家、名家等人之異同比較,蓋唯有如此,荀子思想之真諦方能彰顯。另外有關荀子本書之版本、文字之校讎、歷代對其評價,均在教授範圍內。 The course is designed to study thoughts of Hsun Tzu and to draw omparisons between his thoughts and those of Mencius, Laotzu, Zhuanzi, Motse, and other legalists. The course also includes comparisons and historical reviews of different versions of Hsuntzu.

詩經 SHIH CHING (BOOK OF POETRY) 中三 選 (2 ─ 2) 詩經為我國第一部文學總集,且保存較早各方面資料甚多,讀之可發現詩之興觀群怨、溫柔敦厚外,並可作涵養性情、通達世務、練習辭令及研究上古語言、文字、聲韻、史地、政治、社會、名物、風俗民情、愛情婚姻、宗教道德等研究資料。 The Book of Poetry was the first anthology of classical literature. Studying it, one can learn not only the sentiments that come with poetry but also cultivate one’s character. It also contains plenty of researchable data on ancient language, characters, phonology, history, geography, politics, society, folklores, customs.

昭明文選 ZHAO MING WEN XUAN中三  選(2—2)《昭明文選》依文體分類,不僅所選名篇佳什在中國文學具有舉足輕重的地位,對於中國歷代文體沿革,亦可窺其流變;尤其與本系所授「國學導讀」、「中國文學史」、「詩選」、「文心雕龍」、「陶謝詩」、「楚辭」等課程,亦密切相關,因此,凡有志於中國文學,尤其是漢魏六朝唯美文學,實有必要對此部名著有一定的認識。Zhao Ming Wen Xuan consists of important literary writings in the history of Chinese literature. The course is closely related to other courses offered by this department, such as Introduction to Chinese Classics and Literature, the History of Chinese Literature, Poetry, Wenxindiaolong (The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons), Poetry by Tao and Xie, Chuci (Poetic Prose of Chu), etc. Those who are interested in literature in Han, Wei, and Six Dynaties should study it in order to understand the aesthetic literature in Han, Wei dynasties and Six Dynasties.

文心雕龍 WEN HSIN TIAO LUNG 中三 選 (2 ─ 2) 在探究此書中之文學理論,作為當前國文教學、文學思想、文學體裁、文學創作、文學鑑賞以峇敺y 變的借鏡,並奠定學生進一步研究我國文學理論的基礎與興趣,提高其創作與欣賞的能力。 The course is designed to familiarize student with the literary theory in the book. 古典小說 CLASSICAL NOVELS 中三 選 (2 ─ 2) 本科目將中國古典小說之發展與演變作全面之認識,內容之現實意義及形式之藝術表現並重。 The course is designed to help students understand the development of Chinese classical novels, focusing on both its meaningful contents and artistic forms.

陶謝詩 T'AO YUAN-MING & XIE LIN-YUN'S POETRY 中三 選 (2 ─ 2) 本科目旨在使學生瞭解陶、謝詩之重要內容、藝術特色及其價值,並洞悉二者之異同與其致異之成因,認識陶、謝詩在我國詩史上之崇高地位。 The course is designed to help students understand the artistic features and value of poetry by Tao Yuan-ming and Xie Lin-yun. Comparisons and contrasts between the two are introduced. The two poets received exceptionally high acclaim in the history of Chinese poetry.

歐蘇文 Essays of Ou-yang Xiu and Su Shi中三 選 (2 ─ 2) 唐宋八大家之文,為古典文學之典範;而韓、柳、歐、蘇之文,尤為歷代學者所必讀。本課程預定以二分之一時數講授歐文,二分之一時數講授蘇文,而蘇文則以東坡文為主;並均以散文為範圍。歐文雍容醇雅,東坡文奔騰起伏,各極其妙學者倘口誦心維,勤習不輟,對其創作文言文之能力,必大有裨益。Admitted masterpieces of Ancient Chinese classical literature,the writings of The Eight Artists of Tang and Song Dynasties (Tang Song Ba Da Jia), especially those of Han (Han Yu), Liu (Liu Zong-yuan), Ou (Ou-yang Xiu) and Su (Su Xun, Su Shi, and Su Che), have been studied and scrutinized by Chinese students through the past dynasties. The course is composed of lectures on essays of Ou and Su (Su Dong-po mainly). The essays of Ou and Dong-po feature contrasting characteristices: while those of Ou tend to be poised, mellow, and elegant, those of Dong-po appeal to majestic momentum. It is hoped that the students can promote their classical Chinese writing skills through frequently reciting and savoring these selected writings.

由認識中國神話開始,肯定神話在文學上的重要性。先介紹海峽兩岸及日本學者在神話上的研究成果,再分論開天闢地神話、人類起源神話,旁論盤古、女媧等神話人物,比較台灣原住民與大陸南方神話的異同,以及中西神話的異同。 The course is designed to help students understand the origin of Chinese myths and their status in literature. Chinese myths on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and the Japanese research on them are introduced first. The myths about how the universe was created and the origin of human beings are discussed. Comparisons between the myths of aborigines on Taiwan and those of southern China as well as those between Chinese and Westerners are made.

古典戲劇 CLASSICAL DRAMA 中四 選 (2 — 0) 本課程擬從下列各角度探討中國古典戲曲:(一)劇本文學;(二)戲曲結構;(三)戲曲理論;(四)戲曲美學;(五)戲曲之文類劃分——悲劇與喜劇;(六)地方戲;(七)專題研究。所以,原則上修習本課程必須具備曲選之基本概念,對中國戲曲之起源與演變具有初步之認識,方能在本課程獲得學習成果。 The course is designed to have an in-depth look into Chinese theatrical art: (1) scripts (2) theatrical structures (3) theatrical theories (4) theatrical aesthetics (5) Typology of drama---Tragedies and Comedies (6) local operas (7) Topical research. Therefore, to take this course, one has to have some basic knowledge about traditional opera and its historical development.

地方戲劇 Local Drama中四 選 (0 — 2) 中國戲曲中屬於地方戲的部份,從明代嘉靖以後,就有所謂四大聲腔—海塩、餘姚、弋陽、崑山等的產生。其後各地方的腔調各競其妍,各自發展,到清代已呈百花競放的局面,這些腔調統稱之曰花部亂彈。根據中國戲曲單位的調查,到1992 年左右中國的地方戲共有三百多種,本科目想深入介紹其中的:平劇、崑曲豫劇、及臺灣的歌仔戲、南管等部份。分兩部份進行,其中之一是各地方戲的歷史淵源介紹,其二是影片欣賞部份。然後作課堂討論。期中考以作報告方式舉行期末考則筆試方式。Since the reign of Emperor Jiajing, Ming Dynasty, there created the so-called four styles(or tunes; melodies)in Chinese local drama- Haiyan Qiang , Yiyang Qiang, Yuyao Qiang, and Kunshan Qiang. Thereafter, various singing genres had appeared continuously. Till the Qing Dynasty, there were hundreds of different local tunes throughout the country. These various styles of drama were referred to as Huabu–

Luandan. Recent surveys done by China drama researchers show that there are more than three hundreds different forms of opera throughout the country till 1992.

圖書文獻學 Documentary Science中四 選 (0 — 2)我國有豐富的文獻典籍,能否繼承和發展,關係到文化遺產的存亡。此學科包含注釋(包括字詞的注音、釋義及天文、地理、名物、典制等考辨)、校勘、目錄、版本、辨偽、輯佚、編纂等,如有正確的文獻學理論和方法,對歷代典籍的保存、整理、流傳和運用,必有助益。Cultural legacy requires proper documentation. The course consists of knowledge about footnoting, (including pronunciation, definition, and inspection of astronomical, geographical, and institutional systems), proofreading, cataloging, determining authenticity, and compiling. Documentary science provides us with proper preservation, circulation, arrangement, and use of ancient texts.

現代文學批評 MODERN LITERATY CRITICISM 中四 選 (2 — 0) 一、了解批評的意義、目標與功能。 二、掌握批評的態度與方法。 三、培養自行評析作品的能力。 四、從文學欣賞、文學評論到文學研究,享受多重的美感經驗。 上學期介紹美學原理,儒家、佛家、道家的美學觀念與體系,以之做為文學批評的奠基工作;下學期介紹不同的文學流派與主義、文學批評的方法,並藉此指導實際批評工作之進行。 1. 周易是一部探究宇宙奧祕、發明人生義理、教人窮理盡性的經書,內容含八卦、六十四卦、卦爻辭及十翼,即其微言大義,可知宇宙萬有的變化現象,亦可獲取許多人生修持法則及做事道理。 The Book of Changes deals with the mystery of the universe and the principle of human life. It contains the Eight Diagrams, the 64 diagrams, the combination and arrangement of lines and their interpretations in Chinese mythology. It provides us with knowledge about changeability of the universe and principles of coping with life.

楚辭 CH'U TS'U 中四 選 (2 ─ 2) 本科目在使學生了解屈原之精神與楚辭文學之美。其內容有九歌、離騷、九章、遠游、招魂等篇章之解題、考證、解析與賞析。 The course is designed to help students understand the spirit of Ch’u Yuan and appreciate the beauty of Ch’u Ts’u. Included in Ch’u Ts’u are Nine Songs, Departure, a long poem describing his sorrows and disappointments, Nine Chapters, Traveling Afar, and Calling Back the Soul of the Dead.

尚書 THE CLASSIC OF HISTORY 中四 選 (2 — 2) 尚書是一部政書,也是一部古史。儒家則視為一部經書。因此,它的內容涵蓋甚廣:舉凡自我修為的內省,治世任人的明察,倫理孝道的惇敘,美風善俗的陶養,以及「柔遠能邇」的政治理念,……無不包蘊其中。是以本課程即以此為綱領,於教學之際,期能使學者,認識其價值,體悟其功效,進而學以致用,偌以改善當今社會人群的風習為目標。 The Classic of History is a book of politics as well as a book of ancient history. Confucian scholars regard it as a classic. It consists of principles of self-introspection, concepts of governing people, guidelines of filial piety, cultivating effect of customs, and political concepts of peach and liberality. The course is designed to help students appreciate the value and virtue of the book so as to learn fully from it.

蘇辛詞 SU HSIN TS'U (VERSES BY SU HISIN) 中四 選 (2 ─ 2) 本科目以蘇辛之生平為經,詞作為緯,引介蘇辛其人其詞;俾同學了解蘇辛之人格及其詞作之特色與異同。

The course is designed to help students learn about Su Hsin’s life and his poetry, so as to gain an understanding of his personality as well as the distinguishing features of his works.

古典文學批評 CRITICISM OF CHINESE CLASSICAL LITERATURE中四 選( 2 — 2)本課程旨在探討中國文學理論所研究的論題,及每個論題既有的若干解釋,進而應用於現代文學研究。The course is designed to deal with research topics in Chinese literature and their established theories, so as to apply them to the study of contemporary literature.
