MISSION

• Soutenir des politiques développement territorial en lien avec la politique de cohésion de l’Union Européenne

• Fournir des informations, des faits, des analyses, des scénarios, de façon comparable à l’échelle de l’UE, sur les structures et les dynamiques territoriales

• Mettre en exergue le capital territorial et les potentialités des territoires en vue d’un développement équilibré des régions européennes

• Le programme ESPON finance exclusivement des recherches

• Les demandes politiques , des Etats Membres et de la Commission européenne, donnent le cadre des recherches

• Les recherches visent une meilleure connaissance du développement territorial européen

• L’utilisation des résultats (indicateurs, typologies, base de données, concepts, cas d’études approfondis) est un objectif prioritaire (capitalisation)
