The Redland Cycling and Walking Guide will be updated and reprinted on a regular basis to reflect these changing conditions.

Mountain Biking and Bush Walking tips When out riding and walking on bushland tracks and trails in the Redlands please:• stay on designated tracks and trails• control your bicycle and avoid skidding• respect other track users• don’t disturb local wildlife• plan ahead and be prepared

Legend Guide on-road bicycle laneIs a lane set aside on the roadway for the use of cyclists. The lane is marked with a continuous painted line on the road. They are signed and a white bicycle symbol is painted inside the lane.

on-road shared These are not dedicated bicycle facilities and are advisory. They are defined by yellow bicycle symbols along the edge line of the traffic lanes.

on-road cycling friendly routeThese routes include local and major roads and have no standard facilities for bicycles. A cycle friendly route will generally have sealed shoulders. Cyclists may find ideal cycling conditions on these roads.

off-road shared pathThese are concrete or asphalt paths that are required to be shared by both pedestrians and cyclists.

off-road pathThese paths are provided primarily for pedestrians but may be used by cyclists unless signed. They are generally narrower than a shared path.

off-road gravel trail/walking trailThese are paths generally located in parks and conservation areas. They are generally shared with pedestrians, cyclists, and horses in regional areas.

Ormiston House (Wellington St, Ormiston) Beautifully restored colonial home c.1862.

2 Cleveland Point (Shore St, Cleveland): See sites marked by Heritage Trail signs on the ride to the Point, then picnic by the old Cleveland Lighthouse.

3 Redlands Museum (60 Smith St, Cleveland) Visit the museum and enjoy a trip back in time. Open Friday and Saturday 1-3pm, Sunday and public holidays 11am-4pm.

4 Black Swamp Wetlands (between Shore St West and Queen Street, Cleveland) A fascinating ecosystem of birds, animals and vegetation.

5 Redlands IndigiScapes Centre (Runnymede Rd, Capalaba) Full sized native garden displays, cafe, walking trails, picnic spots and an education centre.

6 Point Halloran Conservation Reserve (Orana St, Victoria Point) See koalas in their natural habitat. There are a number of tracks and an interpretive centre in the reserve.

7 Redlands on Moreton Bay Visitor Centre (Shore Street, Cleveland) Phone 1300 667 386 www.more2redlands.com.au/explore – find out about everything the Redlands has to offer!

8 Wellington Point Reserve (end of Main Road) A great spot to swim, picnic or fish.

9 Coochiemudlo Island Only a five minute ferry trip from Victoria Point, ‘Coochie’ offers swimming, picnicing and a taste of the Island lifestyle.
