MegaRail
The MegaRail sk is the stretch system within the MegaRail
product line that offers widths low working width at H2 and
H4b containment levels. In combination with the MegaRail
bk, it ensures continuous use on the roadside, in the median,
in median crossings and on bridges. Approved transitions to
Super-Rail and MegaRail s are available.
The low vehicle intrusion class (H2-W2-VI2) makes the system
especially suitable for narrow points such as where bridge pillars
are located close to the road in the median or the roadside. In
addition, the main emphasis with both the MegaRail sk and
MegaRail bk lays on passenger safety. Consequently both
systems offer the lowest impact severity level A. Nevertheless
the highest performance class (H4b-W4-A) can also be reached
with both systems, without system-related changes being
required. This means elaborate transitions to other systems or
construction materials are no longer required.

High containment levels, low working widths, concurrent
low forces into the bridge deck as well as the lowest impact
severity level A - our MegaRail sets new standards on bridges
and other structures on the H2 and H4b level. In addition,
the system is also significantly lighter than other barrier
systems with equivalent performance, uses the approved M16
anchors and also does not contain heavy individual parts.
For H2 the vehicle intrusion class is only VI1, which allows
unrestricted use in front of dangerous structures.
Compared to competition products, the MegaRail bk
transmits relatively low forces into the bridge deck at both
containment levels. The technical overview list for vehicle
restraint systems in Germany lists for the criterion BW 2a only
lists the characteristic resistance values as 16.8 kNm/m as a
moment and 48.6 kN/m as transmitted horizontal force.
