Jan. - Jun. (2009)

The project assigned was to provide a part of the historic city center of Santa Cruz a new plaza. The plaza also needed to provide bathrooms and a little kiosk. The main idea of the project was to cover the area of the project with an alternating pergola that would give shade to the users.

La Scala Prof. Arch. Roberto BriccolaSemester 1, BAC 1, 2009

The purpose of the excercise was to connect with a staircase a student atelier with a student dormitory. The first piece to be designed was the groundfloor staicase which gave us an understanding of what can a staircase be apart form it’s basic functionality. Then came the atelier that was very interesting to project as we needed to experiment with spaces in a defined volume which was defined by the professor. Finally, on the top level the student accomodsation came to place and we started to understand and remember basic and very practical measures to apply when doing architecture.

Casa UnifamiliareProf. Arch. Roberto BriccolaSemester 2, BAC 1, 2010

Thinking and designing a unifamiliar house was the task for the second semester of my 1st year. This exercise brought to my knowledge the problems of privacy and program distribution in a family house. As the individual houses that the students designed then needed to compose a neighbourhood, urbanistic issues where often discussed at critics.

Retreat HouseProf. Arch. Valentin BearthSemester 1, BAC 2, 2010

Imagining and designing a house that would serve as a retreat from the stressful, fast, contemporary way of living. The small dimension of the house allowed us to develop detailed plans.

Construction systems and processesProf. Arch. Franz GrafSemester 1, BAC 2, 2010

Drawing one of the houses designed by Michele Arnaboldi in Arcegno, Switzerland was a nice opportunity to learn construction details from a built project.

Construction and ProjectProf. Arch. Franz GrafSemester 2, BAC 2, 2011

The analysis and detailed representation of Bearth and Deplazes Williman-Lotcher house gave me many notions about construction in architecture.
