Marine Aluminium, Husøy PlantThe Husøy plant is Marine Aluminium’s new facility. The

plant is in total 48.000 square meters. The new fabrication

shops cover an area of 9000 square meters and the new

administrative building covers an area of 4000 Square

Metres.

Marine Aluminium, Stord PlantOur facilities are conveniently located adjacent to the

Aker Solutions’ Yard at Stord. Our two main fabrication

shops cover a total area of approximately 3,500 Square

Metres. The main fabrication shop is 37 m wide and 55 m

long and has a crane hook height of 27 m. The facility is

excellent for the fabrication of large structures / modules.

Marine Aluminium, Ningbo PlantOur facilities in China are conveniently situated in the city

of Ningbo and are a two-hour drive by car from Shanghai.

This new facility includes 500 m2 of office space and 1500

Square Metres of fabrication space. The proximity to our

customers in Asia has improved our service capability and

shortened our delivery time.

HELIDECKS

The use of aluminium ensures a substantial weight reduction. The aluminium alloy

used for Helidecks has the strength of mild steel, but has one-third of its weight.

In addition, the aluminium extrusion technology provides the designers with cross

sections that are impractical when using steel.

The Helidecks can be tailor-made to fulfill the customer’s requirements. Aluminium helicopter decks offer substantial

benefits over other materials. Weight reductions of 50% to 65%, compared to steel, make them particularly suited to

marine, offshore, and other weight-sensitive structures.

Due to its resistance to corrosion, the aluminium alloy used by MA also requires less maintenance. Lifecycle cost

analysis shows that the lifetime savings are significant.

MA helidecks can be supplied in many different completion grades, from prefabricated kits to ready installed turn-key

packages, including lighting, piping, firefighting, etc.

The Marine Aluminium HHR Handrail system is a site built

aluminium railing system of minimal number of components.

As the system is bolted together it does not require hot work

for installation and it is maintenance free. The system is

highly versatile and can be adapted to any structure.

By using the Marine Aluminium HHR railing system projects can achieve the

The HHR railing system design complies with the requirements in the NORSOK

FlexiBarrier is a product developed to

cope with the rough handling of goods

and containers offshore.

Adjacent railing and protection

systems in lay-down areas can often

be damaged, causing work delay and

safety problems.

The product consists of hinged and energy absorbing

posts and horizontal railing with flexible interconnection.

The FlexiBarrier is delivered with footplates for either

welding or bolting to steel or aluminium decks.

The railing can be supplied in different heights and with

optional numbers of rails. When a pendulum load engages

the railing, a flexible band within the railing will stretch and

allow the post to function as a shock absorber without

being damaged.

After the load is removed, the post will return to

upright position again. Its unique design, along with

the aluminium’s low weight and high resistance to

corrosion, offers additional advantages compared to steel

constructions for shipping and offshore installations.

The FlexiBarrier can also be extended to a larger flexi-wall

structure. These can be used as protection for sensitive

equipment, in the proximity of laydown and other high-risk

areas.

The advantage of this solid-state process is that it produces welds between

extruded aluminium profiles through friction heating, without the need for either

shielding gas or filler metal.

The maximum length of welding is 16 m; and by welding many profiles together, panels up to 20 m wide can be

produced. Only aluminium alloys in the 6xxx-series are certified for production. The profile thickness varies from

2 mm to 12 mm.

The surface of the resulting pan els is smooth, and requires no furthe r grinding or brushing to improve the finish.

The lower heat required for welding the profiles means that there is less distortion, and the technology produces panelswith better mechanical properties than fusion welded panels.

TMM:Our Total Maintenance Management program gives our

customers defined and bundled services on different levels

and within different service-scopes. TMM handles both

preventive and corrective maintenance. Management of

spare parts and service personnel are also included in the

program.

This program puts our customers in the driving seat when it

comes to documentation and equipment control. Our online

equipment database, Onix, gives customers access 24/7 in

real-time for downloading job reports, certificates, part lists

and what they need in order to prove compliance with the

maintenance schedule.

TMM is available for all MA products and it is implemented

as default on product delivery and throughout the warranty

time.

MA Academy:

The MA Academy is an Aftermarket program for trainingand certifying gangway operators. Marine Aluminium

is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the

product “MA-gangway”. And we have launched an QHSE

requirement for all gangway operators, the “MA Academy

Certificate”.

The MA Academy Certificate program consists of classroom

sessions with theory about technical management and

a desktop simulator. As well as our newly developed full

size simulator. A final examination accredited by members

of the MA-Academy board will qualify personnel for OEM

compliance.
