Savitribai Phule Pune University in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering,
Civil Engineering, Information Technology along with post graduate courses in MBA, ME
Mechanical (Design Engineering) and ME Civil (Construction Management). The institute has
been accredited with NAAC ‘A’ Grade.
The purpose of this Newsletter is to provide information to the student-staff fraternity of
Nashik and society at large of the news, including relevant announcements and updates that we
believe are important to them. However, this newsletter is also a valuable tool for bolstering
morale, promoting unity, team spirit, motivating and rewarding achievements of KBT COE,
Nashik. This college News-Letter has been started from January 2017 and latest issue will be

Seminar on “Project Management and Finance used
in Industry” was organized in the Department of
Mechanical Engineering on 11th January 2020, Mr.
Ritesh Ate (Alumna of 2003 Batch) presented his
views on Project Management carried out in
industry. In his lecture, he explained the various
terms like People Management, Entrepreneurial
approach, Compliance approach etc. which are
frequently used in industry.

First year Engineering student's association
(AARAMBH) organized two days workshop for First
year students on topic "Artificial Intelligence and
Machine Learning (as a beginner and intermediate
course) on 20th and 21st January 2020. Mr. Ashish
Karhade (Google AI ML facilitator, Intern at Ripplex
Edtech) guided students about the application of ML,
the difference between ML and AI.

Paratrooper regiment Indian Army has guided

January 2020. In his session he shared his experience

defence forces after engineering.

Mr. Santosh Mundhe has conducted a session on
Cyber Security on 8th January 2020. In his session he
guided students about the personal data security
while browsing on the internet, using social media
and using their smartphones. Following this session, a
session on financial management was also conducted
by Mr. Vikram Shah under Startup and ED Cell.

Department of Central Library celebrated " Marathi
Bhasha Sanvardhan Pandharwad" during 1st to 15th
January 2020. On this occasion the Central Library

Start up cell of MVPS’s KBTCOE along with Cybsk
Cyber Ambassador Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Organized
expert lectures on Cyber security and financial
management on 6th January 2020. During the session
of Cyber Security, awareness about safe use of online
payment portal was delivered by Mr. Santosh
Munde. After this session, students were made
familiar with financial management by Mr. Prashant
Khairnar.

▪ “Avishkar Project Competition”
(22/01/2020)
To inculcate research culture among
students, to encourage original and novel
thinking and to provide an opportunity for

expression of academic talent, Savitribai Phule
Pune University organizes “Avishkar Project
Competition” every year. In this year, two
project groups from IT department have been
selected at University level. Hence, members of
these project groups of IT department were
felicitated with the hands of Smt. Nilimatai
Pawar (Hon. Sarchitnis, MVP Samaj) for the
selection of their projects in 'Avishkar
Competition' at University level. Project groups
entitled 'Plant Nursery Management' and
'Sound prohibited zone for smart Cities' are
nominated for University level in Agriculture,
Engineering & Technology category
respectively.

Control for one year in on 17th January 2020. Mr.
Rahul Auti (CEO & Director of Accuon Project
Solutions, Pune) and Dr. B. J. Parvat (HoD) signed

▪ Red-Hat certification courses
(04/01/2020)
Department of Information Technology has signed
MoU with Red-Hat Linux in A. Y. 2018-19. In last
year department organized various activities like
Red-Hat certification courses, workshops & seminars
for students. The IT Department students have
successfully completed the certification course of Red
hat Linux. Hence, Department of Information
Technology is awarded with Best performer of the
year award on 4th January 2020. For this
achievement, Dr. N. S. Patil (Education Officer-MVP
Samaj, Principal), Prof. N. B. Desale (Vice Principal)
& all the faculty members of the institute

▪ “All India MVP Karandak Elocution
Competition 2019-20” (16th – 18th
January 2020)
Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj Sanstha organized
National level “All India MVP Karandak Elocution
Competition 2019-20” annually. Our student, Mr.
Vishal Devare actively participated in the National
level elocution competition.

▪ Grant of Patent (14/01/2020)
Patent office, Government of India has granted a
patent to Dr. S. B. Sonawane (Mechanical
Engineering Department). He has invented process
for synthesis of nano-coolant in this work.
▪ “Automated Solar Panel Cleaning
System” (04/01/2020)
Final year students Mr. Akash Misar, Mr. Shubham
Mahajan, Mr. Rishabh Shimpi and Mr. Akash
Sonawane along with Mentor Prof. S. J. Surywanshi
of Mechanical Engineering Department presented a
project titled “Automated Solar Panel Cleaning
System” for the SPPU PUNE AVISHKAR 2019
Project Competition held at KVN Naik Sanstha’s
Loknete Gopinathji Munde College of Engineering,
Nashik on 4th January 2020.
▪ Filing of Patent (January-2020)
Dr. V. C. Shewale, Mr. H. K. Khalkar, Mr. S. M.
Dandge & Mr. A. S. Chavan have filed Indian patent
on Agricultural Slurry Distribution Unit.

Department of Information Technology
▪ “Student to Student Mentor program”
(24/01/2020)
To provide a platform for productive interaction and
guidance to junior students by seniors from the
department, IT department started “Student to
Student Mentor program”. Under this program,
department organized a session on 24th January 2020.
In this session, Final year IT students guided TE
students regarding importance of internship,
selection process of project. In this session they also
explained working modules of their projects.
▪ Apptitude Test (23/01/2020)
To improve students logical reasoning & thinking
ability and to prepare students to face challenges of
corporate life after completion of engineering, ITSA
team of IT department organized apptitude test for
TE &BE IT students on 23rd January 2020. Around
80 students apperaed the test. This activty is
conducted by ITSA team.
▪ Group Discussion Activity (02/01/2020)
The IT department organised a group discussion
activity for SE &TE IT students on 2nd January 2020.
This activty is conducted by ITSA team of IT
department. Prof. D. R.Gatne and Prof. B. A. Ahire
assessed the students and provided suggestions for
improvements.

▪ Industry Institute Interaction

Mr. Girish Kangane (Managing Director, Eastro
Controls Systems Pvt. Ltd.) interacted with staff
members and discussed on various issues such as
Students Training, Project Execution, Placement of
Students, Utilization of department Emerson DCS for
faculty & students on 22nd January 2020.

▪ Alumni Interaction (18/01/2020)
Mr. Suyog Dhalkari (Alumni-2014 Batch) and Mr.
Akshay Thakare (Alumni-2019 Batch) visited to
department on 18th January 2020. During the visit
they guided and shared their experiences of corporate
life to second year students.

Mr. Vijay Thakur (Executive Engineer in Reliance),
who is an Alumni of Instrumentation and Control
Engineering department mentored the SE
Instrumentation and Control students regarding
their future career plans on 4th January 2020.

▪ Induction Program (7th – 11th January
2020)
The First Year Engineering students of all branches
were welcomed in college for the 2nd semester of
academic year 2019-20 on Tuesday, 7th of January
2020. The induction program phase II was organized
for FE students during 7th to 11th January 2020. Dr.
N. S. Patil (Education Officer – MVP Samaj &
Principal) and Prof. N. B. Desale (Vice Principal)
guided the students on this occasion.

▪ "Coffee Katta Interactive Session"
(13/01/2020)

Department of the Central Library has started a
"Coffee Katta Interactive Session" for college
students & staff in order to promote the discussion on
latest information and review of books and print
journals as well as to increase reading habit. For
students the activity has started from 13th January
2020. Activities under this session are carried out on
every Monday to Thursday between 3.00 pm to 5.00
pm.

The students of the institute participated in the

▪ Inauguration of Fusion 2020 Annual
Sports Meet (07/01/2020)
An inauguration of Fusion 2020 Annual Sports Meet
took place at the hands of Shri. Sachin Pingale
(Director, MVP Samaj) and Prof. N. B. Desale (Vice
Principal) on 7th January 2020. HODs, Staff members
and students of the institute were present during this
event.
8. Social Activities ▪ Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (10th – 15th
January 2020)
The students and Faculty members of the institute
went to Odha, Lakhalgaon, Gangapadali, Matori and
Belgaon Dhaga villages and did the survey under
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan during 10th to 15th January
2020. During survey, students discussed with villagers
about their basic needs and the problems faced by
them. The students identified the problems which can
be solved by them through projects. viz. composting,
need of solar pumps, waste water management.

▪ Social Entrepreneurship (02/01/2020)
The ED Cell of the institute in association with
Department of MBA organized a session on Social
Entrepreneurship on 2nd January 2020. Shri. Adhik
Kadam (Founder, Borderless World Foundation) was
invited as a resource person for this session.
KBTCOE Nature & Social Activity Club
▪ Social Activity (22/01/2020)
Students of KBTCOE Nature & Social Activity Club
took initiative and contributed sum of INR 7650/-
(Seven Thousand Six Hundred Fifty Only). Total 20
faculty members & students came together for the
activity. The fund was further transferred to “United
We Stand Foundation Nashik” (Reg. No.
Nashik/0000610/2019), who provided the blankets to
needy people in and around Nashik city.
