elft H I S T O R I C W A L K / Discover the most beautiful historic places with the Historic Walk of Delft. This walking route is an illustrated walk with a handy map, that intro-duces you to the rich history of Delft. You can read all about the bond that the city of Delft has with the world famous Delftware, the royal family and the painter Johannes Vermeer. The basic tour lasts 1.5 hours, which you can extend with three additional walking routes that are also included in the booklet. You can take this walk on your own, at your own pace. The walking route costs € 3,90 each and is available at VVV Delft in Dutch, English, German and French. P R E F E R A G U I D E ? / During the tourist season there are daily tours, city walks and boat tours along the canals, led by experts guides. To have information or make a reservation, contact VVV Delft. B Y B I K E / Are you up for a short round of 35 kilometres? Tourist Information VVV Delft has composed a nice route based on the national Bicycle Route. You can find the route on page 26-27.

Ontdek zelf de mooiste historische plekjes met de Historische Wandel-route Delft. Deze wandelroute is een geïllustreerde wandeling met een handige kaart en laat je kennis maken met de rijke geschiedenis van Delft. Je leest alles over de band van de stad Delft met het wereldberoemde Delfts Blauw, het koningshuis en de schilder Johannes Vermeer. De basiswandeling duurt 1,5 uur die je kunt uitbreiden met 3 extra looproutes die ook in het boekje staan. Je kunt deze wandeling op eigen gelegenheid en in je eigen tempo doen. De wandelroute kost € 3,90 per stuk en is verkrijgbaar in het Nederlands, Engels, Duits en Frans bij VVV Delft.

G O U D E N E E U W / In 2019 staat Nederland in het teken van de Gouden Eeuw. Nederland kende in deze 17e eeuw grote rijkdom. Handel met landen uit Europa en de rest van de wereld bereikte een hoogtepunt. Steden die schepen naar Azië, Afrika en Amerika (Noord en Zuid) stuurden, behoorden tot de rijkste steden in Holland. De geschiedenis van deze steden is nog steeds zichtbaar in vele huizen, grachten, kerken, stadsmuren en havens. Zo ook in Delft. Langs de eeuwenoude grachten in het historische stadscentrum waan je je weer in de Gouden Eeuw. Je kunt er de geschiedenis nog voelen. Ontdek de verhalen van Delfts Blauw, Willem van Oranje, Johannes Vermeer en zijn wereldberoemde tijdsgenoten als Pieter de Hooch, Anthony van Leeuwenhoek en Hugo de Groot.
G O L D E N A G E / Throughout the entire Netherlands, 2019 will be dedicated to the Golden Age. The 17th century was a period of great wealth for The Netherlands, then the Dutch Republic. Trade blossomed with countries in Europe and the rest of the world. Cities who were sending ships to Asia, Africa and the Americas were among the richest in Holland, and the history of these cities is still visible in their many mansions, canals, churches, city walls and harbours.
The same applies to Delft. Along the ancient canals in the historic centre of Delft, you find yourself in the Golden Age. You can taste and feel the history and discover the stories of Delft Blue, William of Orange, Johannes Vermeer and world famous contemporaries as painter Pieter de Hooch, scientist Anthony van Leeuwenhoek and jurist Hugo de Groot

11 oktober 2019 - 16 februari 2020 Pieter de Hooch – Museum Prinsenhof Delft Eindelijk krijgt Pieter de Hooch de aandacht die hij verdient met de eerste overzichtstentoonstelling van zijn werk in Nederland. Juist in Delft maakte deze belangrijke meester uit de Gouden Eeuw zijn allermooiste werken met warme kleuren en natuurlijke lichtinval. Voor deze tentoonstelling worden al zijn schilderijen vanuit de hele wereld bij elkaar gebracht in Museum Prinsenhof Delft!

And all his paintings are brought together from all over the world in this once-only exhibition in Museum Prinsenhof Delft!

S T A D V A N O R A N J E /In 1572 kwam Willem van Oranje in Delft wonen en werken om de opstand tegen de Spanjaarden te leiden. In deze jaren is het huidige Nederland als parlementaire een-heidsstaat geboren met zijn princi-pes van vrijheid van godsdienst en vrije meningsuiting. Sinds de moord op Willem van Oranje in 1584 is het Koninklijk Huis nauw aan Delft verbonden. Het imposante praalgraf van Willem van Oranje is te bewon-deren in de Nieuwe Kerk en geeft de kerk koninklijke allure. Sinds Willem van Oranje zijn veel leden van het Koninklijk Huis bijgezet in de koninklijke grafkelders van deze kerk. Ontdek het verhaal van Willem van Oranje in Museum Prinsenhof Delft.
R O Y A L C I T Y/In 1572, William of Orange came to live and work in Delft to lead the revolt against the Spaniards. In those years, the Netherlands we know today, as parliamentary unity, was born, with its princi-ples of freedom of religion and freedom of expression. Even since the assassination of William of Orange in 1584, the royal family has been closely bound to Delft. William of Orange’s impressive mausoleum certainly gives the church a regal air. F I E T S R O U T E ( 3 5 K M ) /De route gaat via Delftse Hout, Ackerdijkse Plassen, de Vlaardingervaart naar Schipluiden en via ’t Woudt weer terug naar Delft.
Start bij knooppunt 2 (Hoek Nieuwe Lan-gendijk/Oranje Plantage).
Je fietst via knooppunt 9 naar knooppunt 8 . Je komt dan langs een smal pad dat soms modderig is. Vanaf knooppunt 7 kun je ook rechtstreeks naar 8 , dan fiets je een stukje langs de snelweg.
Vanaf knooppunt 8 fiets je vervolgens naar de volgende knooppunten:
LET OP! Door werkzaamheden in het Spoorzonegebied kan het lastig zijn om van-af knooppunt 86 knooppunt 50 te vinden. Steek in dat geval aan het eind van de Ruys de Beerenbrouckstraat (voorzichtig i.v.m. alle werkzaamheden) de straat Wateringse Vest over en vervolg dan linksaf de weg. Je komt dan bij knooppunt 50 en vandaar fietst je naar 62 en naar knooppunt 2 waar je begonnen bent. Als je bij 2 rechtsaf slaat kom je weer op de Markt.
Kom je niet uit Delft of verblijf je niet in Delft? Je kunt de auto gratis parkeren op de Korftlaan (tussen knooppunt 2 en 3). Om de route vanaf daar te starten fiets je weg van de snelweg naar knooppunt 3.

You will then arrive at junction 50 , from where you can cycle to junction 62 and finally junction 2 , where you started. If you turn right at junction 2 you will find yourself back on the Market.

K I N D E R D I J K/A windmill is a typical Dutch sight for foreign tourists. One of the most beautiful villages in the Netherlands, under an hour from Delft, is famous for them. M A R K E T S/From late April to mid-October, you will find an antique, curio and book fair in the centre of Delft, every Saturday. On Thurs-day you will find a small version. The flower and goods market can be found all year round on Thursdays (on the Market), and in a smaller version on Saturdays.
O P E N I N G H O U R S/Most stores are open daily from 9:00/10:00 to 18:00, and are closed on Monday morn-ing. On Friday’s they are open until 21:00 for late night shopping and on Sunday they are open in the afternoon.

Het Gulden ABC dankt zijn naam aan de drukkerij die in de 17e eeuw in hetzelfde historische pand huisde in hartje Delft. Vandaag de dag ademt het restaurant nog steeds de sfeer uit van weleer. Met de Paardentram waan je je in de 19e eeuw. Paradeer met de paarden langs de Delftse grachten en ontdek de historische binnenstad van Delft op een unieke manier. Het is een bij-zondere ervaring voor jong en oud.
Opstapplaats: de Markt, voor/naast het Stadhuis. Kaartjes zijn direct bij de wagen te koop. Volwassenen €10.00 en kinderen €5.00.
With the horse-drawn streetcar you will find yourself back in the 19th century. Parade along the canals and discover the historic city centre in a unique way. It is a great experience for every age.
Pick-up spot: Market square, in front of/next to the City Hall. Tickets can be bought directly at the streetcar. Adults €10.00 and children €5.00.

Molen de Roos is de enig overge-bleven molen van de 18 molens die Delft ooit had. Tijdens een bezoek zie je hoe het graan tot meel gemalen wordt, net zoals dat al in 1679 gedaan werd. Op de zolder van de molen leer je alles over molens, meel, het dagelijkse brood en windkracht en met de handmolen kun je er zelf graan malen.Neem ook een kijkje in de molenwinkel Ambacht. Hier kun je Delfts molenmeel, bak- en streekproducten kopen.
‘Molen de Roos’ is the only mill left from the 18 mills that were once lo-cated in Delft. During a visit you can see how grain is grinded to flower, just like how they did in 1679. In the attic you can learn everything about mills, flower, bread and wind power and with the hand mill you can even grind grain yourself. Last but not least, don’t forget to check out the mill shop ‘Ambacht’. You can buy ‘Delfts’ flower and other regional products here. 45

T I P P S /Museum Prinsenhof gehört absolut zu einem Besuch an Delft. Sie finden hier Ausstellungen über das Entstehen der Niederlande, von Delfter Blau und über das Leben von Wilhelm von Oranien. Im ‘Sience Centre’ entdecken Sie, was Wissenschaft und Technik für die Gesellschaft bezeichnet. Im ‘Vermeer Centrum Delft’ lernen Sie alles über Leben und Werk vom weltbekannten Maler Johannes Vermeer. Bei ‘Royal Delft’, dem ‘Delftse Pauw’ und dem ‘Cande-laer’ können Sie originelles delfterblaues Porzellan bewundern und in der Alten und der Neuen Kirche finden Sie die Grafmonumente von Johannes Vermeer, von verschiedenen Seehelden sowie Wis-schenschaftlern und das Graf von Wilhelm von Oranien.
B E R E I C H B A R K E I T /Das Zentrum von Delft ist gut erreichbar met dem Auto oder öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln. Das Auto können Sie in einer der drei Parkgaragen am Rand des Zentrums parkieren (folgen Sie die
-Schilder). Aufgepasst: Die Parkplätze im Zentrum sind nur für Einwohner mit einer speziellen Bewilligung! Delft und Umgebung auf dem Fahrrad entdecken? Von hier aus kommt man mit dem Fahrrad schnell in ländliche Gebiete. Einfach und schnell durch die Stadt? Mit den elektrischen shuttles werden Sie komfortabel zu verschiedenen Sehenswürdigkeiten von Delft gebracht. Ne manquez pas non plus les expositions sur la naissance des Pays-Bas, le bleu de Delft et la vie de Guillaume d’Orange-Nassau. Au Science Centre, vous vous étonnerez des répercussions de la science et de la technique sur la société, tandis qu’au Vermeer Centrum Delft vous apprendrez tout ce qu’il faut savoir sur la vie et l’œuvre du peintre mondialement connu Johannes Vermeer. Ad-mirez les céramiques en bleu de Delft au Royal Delft, au Delftse Pauw et au Candelaer. Enfin, la Oude en Nieuwe Kerk abritent les sépultures des personnes historiques célébres.

Un excellent réseau de pistes cyclables au départ de Delft vous permet d’accéder aux différents espaces verts et de détente. Circuler rapidement et facilement dans Delft?
