Welcome to the Week 7 Junee North Newsletter. Parents were informed in Week 3 Term 4 Newsletter that the school would this year be trialling a special Medallion Assembly as school for the presentation of the 2010 School Catch A Kid Medallions. The parents of students receiving Catch A Kid Medallion will be notified by mail and are invited up to see their child get presented with their award. The date of the 2010 Medallion Assembly is Monday 6th December at 10.45 am . As stated in the Newsletter and at the P&C meeting we are trialling the Medallion Assembly as a way of keeping our Presentation Evening to approx 60 to 70 minutes in length and it will mean that the Presentation evening focuses on Academic and Sporting achievements. It will also allow our Medallion Presentation to be special for all concerned as it will give it its own special assembly. The election speeches and voting for the 2011 School Captains and Vice Captains will take place on Wednesday 1st December. The speeches will start at 2:10 pm in the School Hall, following the speeches the students in Years 1 to 5 will vote in a secret ballot for the 2011 captains. The 2011 Junee North School Captains will be named and presented with their badges at Presentation Night 8th December 2010. I would like to wish all the Year 5 students nominated for school captains all the very best in the election. The election of the Junee North Sports House Captains will take place early in Term 1 2011. Two weeks ago i stated in the Newsletter that the Junee District PSSA may need to look to join with the Cootamundra and Temora schools to form a new PSSA District in the coming years. After a number of meeting and discussions with parents, staff and the other schools in the Junee District PSSA it has been decided to follow through on the suggestion from the Riverina PSSA that we discuss with the Cootamundra District PSSA the possibility of joining them next year, trail the new larger and improved sports district. At present the Junee PSSA is waiting on confirmation from the Cootamundra PSSA for inclusion in 2011. Next Friday 3rd December is the Junee North Summer School Disco / Social in the school hall. The SRC are running the night with the support of the staff. It should be a great deal of fun for all who attend. Parents, School Helpers and Scripture Teachers are reminded that a special thank you morning tea for everyone who has supported Junee North throughout 2010, in the Hall at recess on Tuesday 7th December. Students are reminded that the Annual JNPS Talent Quest is being held on Friday 10 December time etc TBA. I am looking forward to seeing a great variety of acts and performances on display at the Talent Quest. Well done to the SRC , Mrs Shephard and Mrs Kimber for once again organising the talent Quest. Until next Week,
