These guys arent some on off costuming brand from china. They make quality stuff.

I first tried different names and logos before settling on a bird for it. I then tried different logo designs of that bird before settling on a modified version of the first logo. After thinking it over, I changed the name of the company to reflect a new color scheme I came up with. I then created a draft of the letterhead, and business card and got some feedback from a few people. I made sure to focus on contrast with colors and alignment.

Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, & InDesign

Create a brochure with accurate folds, and an eyecatching design.

I knew I had to tie this design into the webpage, so I started gathering what I felt I would need from the previous project file on my computer. I then opened Indesign to create a basic shape map using a column layout, and I placed all the basic elements. After I recieved feedback, I decided to completely change the design around. Pulling elements from from my webpage and reorganized my original. I added colors, divided the segments better. I finally refined the text, and added two photos to wrap the text around. The result is a elegant invitation to check out a cool costuming company.

Magazine CoverA magazine cover highlighting myself, my life, and some of my interests.

Adobe InDesign

Design a magazine cover that showcases yourself, as well as articles about certain aspects of your life.

I always liked the visual nature of LIFE, and I wanted to do something like that. Since I knew what I wanted and lept into action. Starting a new document in 8.5 x 11 size, I inserted my image and the LIFE logo, and locked them into place. I then created several article titles and placed them on the lower right-hand side to help balance out the design. I made the lower band to help show the issue number and volume number, and other little details to make it seem like a real world product. The result is a Magizene that I would pick up off of a newsstand.

Ceate a photodesign that utilizes good photography and design skills to create a poster that shows a consistent color scheme

I had a hard time find something I could photograph, until I remembered my Dad and his Ford Bronco. It was the perfect subject, with a distinctive color scheme, and I could make a idea to go with it. I was able to get a picture of it, and then I did the following. After I took a picture, I brought it into Photoshop, and I applied the filters necessary, and then I started to mess around with color and vibrancy a little bit, to get the colors to pop. Then, using the quick select tool, I selected the bronco, and brought just the bronco without the background into a blank Photoshop document. I then added shapes to cover the blank windows, added a road that matched the colors, and added a quote, keeping with a diagonal alignment. The result is a unique, somewhat animated design, that screams life, and Adventure.

Adobe Illustrator

Create a visually interesting infographic, showcasing a unique topic.

Looking around on the internet for inspiration, I found that there weren’t many highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of the big companies. Originally it was going to be a big battle royale between Microsoft, Apple, & Google, but that proved too complicated. So, after drawing the general layout of the design, and selecting a color scheme, I moved into Illustrator, and created a repeating background made of tiny circles to add texture I then created the banners for each section. Then working down, I added text, graphs, and illustrations for most sections that needed it. Created a matte to cover parts that went outside the artboard. I added some further details, like keys on the keyboards, Shrapnel on the Apple Graph, and sharpened details in general. The end result is exactly what I would expect from a website like Tech Crunch, or Verge.

Adobe Photoshop, & Illustrator

Create a mockup of a potential website using photoshop Continuing my designs for “Bluejay Costuming”, I decided to try designing what their website would look like. I first sketched out potential layouts, eventually settling on a minimalist design. I got right into Photoshop and using a 24 column graph as a layout, I started positioning all the details. I then started replacing the markers with details like photos for the 4 boxes in the middle, Copyright info for the bottom, and a subtle background. Enough to make the design pop somewhat. The end result is a simplistic, but visually interesting design.

CodingA simple HTML Webpage

Create a custom website using HTML & CSS Code

This was one where I went simple. I gathered my logo from illustrator, made tweaks to the size and exported it. I also exported the Crown image I originally created for my logo and, after making tweaks to the size to use it as a background file, and repeating it back there. I opened my HTML file and CSS file, and began making changes side by side. At regular intervals I would open the HTML file in my web browser to make sure things were going on the right track. The end result is a simplistic, but effective way to showcase on of my favorite projects.
