Shaaray Torah wishes to extend

• Simon Adelman passed away on

December 6, 2017. He was the devoted

companion of Fran Goldberg; cousin of Larry

(Sharyn) Adelman, Carl (Mary Lou) Adelman,

Bernice Fidelholtz and Terri Fidelholtz.

May his memory be a blessing to all who knew

and loved him.

Gift Shoppe

The Gift Shoppe has a nice selection of Passover items, including matzah covers and haggadahs.

Of course we always carry tallitot, tallit bags, tefillin, yarmulkes, mezuzahs, kosher scrolls, memorial lamps and holders. We have yads for bar/bat mitzvahs, and candle sticks, Kiddush cups, Shabbat candles and other items for Shabbat.

Annual MLK Shabbat Service

Temple Israel will celebrate Martin Luther King’s legacy at their annual MLK Shabbat service on Friday, January 12 at 7:15 p.m.

This year’s guest speaker is Brenda D. Stevens, the Director of Multicultural Services at Malone University where she provides support and leadership with regard to the unique needs of students of color and international students, serving as an advocate for a community that thrives on diversity.

Stevens earned a bachelor of science in journalism from Kent State University and a master of arts degree in higher education administration from the University of Akron. She is a certified diversity executive through the Institute for Diversity. As a diversity professional,

she has served numerous organizations providing cultural awareness and diversity training to professionals and has worked with DSR & Associates to provide education and training pertaining to diversity and inclusion. She has traveled with students to serve in Nairobi Kenya, Hong Kong, Mainland China, South Africa, Botswana, and Zambia.

She is married to Leonard D. Stevens and they are proud parents and grandparents.

Chadash Happenings in 2018

As Chadash welcomes in 2018, we are excited for the second half of our school year. The first

half of the year brought us so many meaningful experiences that we shared together as a

faculty and student body, and it brought our families together, as well. Simply put, Chadash is

a community, and we know it will continue to blossom as the year continues on.

Please mark your calendars and save the date for all of our upcoming Chadash programs that

our families are encouraged to attend. We hope to see you soon and look forward to carrying on

our traditions in an extraordinary way.
